One thing I used to do to break up the congestion in my lungs - make a cup of

hot lemonade (hot water, lemon juice and ginger) and sit in a tub of hot water.

I would use as much ginger (ground) that I could stand to drink and stay in the

tub for as long as I could. It always worked for me. I think a sauna or steam

bath would work in place of the tub - but this was the poor person's way.

Good luck!!

Hi Max,

I had bronchitis for many years and did not want to believe an ND, who told me

that I should try to only eat vegetables, whole grains, cold pressed oil, herbal

seasonings and some fish for at least a short time, until I get relieve. He

died a few years ago and for some reason I did try this very boring diet. After

about 3 months, not only my coughing, but also my arthritis and awful

earproblems stopped!!! I could sleep better and lost about 10 pounds. Only

problem was that every time I tried to add some of the food I used to eat

(processed foods, red meat, sauces, bread, desserts, dairy, etc) I felt awful...

scratchy throat etc. So, I don't eat anything, but what he advised. Boring,

yes, but I got used to it. I feel great!

When I had a cough like that, boiling chopped garlic and thyme in a

little water and inhaling the steam really brought it up.

I once had a severe cough and felt like I was drowning. My husband had been to

the doctor because he was very ill and the doctor said he had a spot of

phenomena or 2 but I know I was much worse then he except I did not have

insurance at the time to be checked out. If I would have seen a doctor I have no

doubt they would have rushed to put me in the hospital. Believe me.... Any how

being my husband was sick  (Bless his heart, he took our daughter to the father

Daughter dance regardless) I had to muster up enough strength to get to our

local Herb shop. I bought a bottle of pure organic, oil of oregano and took the

required amt. It was about 13 drops in water but it was so  hard to take down I

just put the drops on a small piece of bread chew swallowed it then chugged down

a glass of water. I was CURED in about 3 days. Before this I honestly thought I

was  in my home going bed. Hope this helps.

--- Mary asked, " can you give this to children? " . I'm sorry, I

don't know. Perhaps someone else out there more qualified can answer

as to whether or not oregano oil is safe for very young children. As

I suspected, a couple of days taking about 12 capsules every 8 hours

and me and Bonnie are quite well and over our throat infection. It

is a good guess that along with taking a natural anti-biotic, while

taking pure oil of oregano you are also getting a good-sized dose of

vitamin C. Blessings, Belial the Uncouth.
