Guest guest
As this applies to a canine, it is somewhat off topic. I am looking for an alternative to antibiotics for use with canines. Tucker is a six year old Shih Tzu who has had both eyes removed (double enuclation) due to problems shortly after birth. From time to time the incision site on one eye (only) will seep and become infected. He has undergone three different surgeries to try and correct this problem but there is nothing left to do. There is nothing left within the eye socket to remove yet infections continue to happen. Each time I treat him for five days with Clindamycin which I would like to stop using and switch to a more natural treatment. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Guest guest
Cynthia - I would recommend you take a 4 oz bottle of 10ppm colloidal silver and add to it one tablespoon of dmso (you can buy that in most livestock feed stores). Twice a day sponge Tucker's eye sockets with this mixture. The dmso will penetrate membranes/skin and carry the CS, which is a natural antibiotic, directly to where the infection is. I have used this combination on cats severe abscesses with great success. Good luck. I had given thought to the colloidal silver but never having used it before, did not know exactly how to administer. I'll see if I can locate the dmso, perhaps online if not local. Guest guest
I suggest: Strength his immune system with a good diet, proper exercise, probiotics and some herbs such as astragalus. Wash his eyes with a strong infusion of black tea just prepared twice a day.
