Sorry if this is long, but I am new and trying to figure out what is

happening to my body.

I am a woman and a few years ago I noticed that my hair started

thinning really fast. I saw a Derm who didn't believe that I was

losing my hair. I also had weird spots on my hands which he didn't

know what they were. A few years later the weird spots showed up on

my foot and exploded into a huge rash that was very scary. It was

obvious that I wasn't going to be able to wear any shoes if the rash

got much worse. I saw a different Derm and they Dx me with Palmo

Plantar Pustular Psoriasis. This is a life long Inflammatory and

Auto Immune Disease that has no known cure and no known cause (I

don't have Psoriasis in my family). I tried a bunch of the

prescriptions, but they gave me side effects and actually may have

made my Psoriasis worse.

I started reading about Psoriasis and found that some people were

seeing good results from a Gluten Plus other free diets. My son

happens to be on a Gluten & Casein free diet for his Autism (the diet

is working for him :0)) so I decided to try it. It is working and my

Psoriasis rash is 99% gone. The Derms say that Psoriasis is not

effected by diet and they are wrong so I can no longer believe

anything they say. I also saw a naturopath who found that I had

other food intolerance and a couple of bacterias that are common in

people with Psoriasis (Streptococcus and Staphyl???). She advised me

to take certain supplements in addition to diet. Needless to say my

Psoriasis is doing well with Diet and supplements, but now that the

winter is coming I noticed that my hair started falling out at a fast

rate again. I am panicked. The Derm will just tell me to go get

Rogaine or something and I am not interested. I want to find out

what is going on in my body and why my hair is falling out and fix

it. I am tired of just treating the symptoms. I can no longer

afford the Naturopath and all the tests I need. I am lucky if I can

pay for the supplements that have been helping me so much. Although I

am on a special diet I am still not eating right. Eating all food

groups is hard when you are sooooo busy. I am over stressed with two

small children (1 with very special needs). Sometimes I don't even

have time to eat all day.

Does anyone have any experience with this? I think the Auto Immune

and Inflammatory disease is related to this hair loss.

Thank you for any input :)

I have many autoimmune things and one is alopecia areata which is hair loss that

is autoimmune. It could be you have that. If you look , is it by any chance

falling out in little cirlcles or bigger ones.? It tends to start in little

circles that get bigger. It definitely could be alopecia areata as it is common

with people with auto immune things. Feel free to email me if you would like

more information.

hi :) Sorry to hear you're having such a hard time.

My son has psoriasis, we took him off all dairy and used hexane free

castor oil on the patches and he cleared up. He didn't seem to have it

as seriously as you do, but his hair was also coming out in small

patches. Have you tried cleansing? Toxicity could be an issue, it

sounds like. I highly recommend trying the castor oil. Just massage

it into the splotches after a warm bath and it should help.
