Could some-one please explain this to me?

I have a friend who was trying to tell me about it

and I can not understand.

What is the purpose of it, how to do it, anything would be helpful

Thanks so much

This is my understanding of oil-pulling: swishing the relatively-heavy

oil around your mouth really, really cleans every part of your mouth.

Teeth, gums, all the small spaces -- it drags out all kinds of debris

and undoubtedly a lot of bacteria and other germs. So I'm completely

sold on benefits for dental health.

With all the things coming out (in the mainstream media, no less!)

about the connection between gum disease and disease elsewhere in the

body, I'll go ahead and believe that oil-pulling will help with

whole-body issues.

I've been using Nutiva coconut oil, and it tastes so pleasant. Not

even difficult to get my teenager to do it. Soon we'll see if it's

helping to improve his cavities, even though he doesn't do it every day...

Hi Joy, I totally agree with you. Maybe I would add that the oil should be kept

for about 15 to 20 minutes in the mouth and then rinsed out very well. I found

that rinsing with salt water afterwards, helps. My teeth are much nicer since I

started oil pulling (about 2 years now).

BTW, the saltwater helps me from getting colds. If I don't forget to rinse,

gargle and sniff saltwater, I don't get the usual colds.
