Guest guest
Hello Everyone, I recently decided to stop taking decongestants and antihistamines for Rhinitus and Sinusitus because I had read where these drugs cause Arthritis. I was diagnosed with severe Arthritis in my knees and was trying to at least stop aggravating the condition with these drugs. Discontinuing this decade or longer process of taking OTC allergy medication was easier than I thought. I replaced them with herbal remedies that I switch off weekly. I was left with a tickle in my throat when I stopped the sinus medications. I would lose my voice if it became severe. This happened especially if I had to talk for any length of time, like when I do hypnosis. I began looking for the throat spray I had found at a health food store in Louisiana and could not find it locally. I finally found it on the Internet, but it was expensive with shipping of course. I remember some of these sprays tasted awful and left a breath smell that was a little too earthy for me. My solution was the following recipe. I've been using it for a while now and have found great results for such a simple group of ingredients. Throat Coat Spray Recipe 2 oz Plastic Spray Bottle (can buy at most drug stores) 1/8 of a shot of Drinking Alcohol (Whiskey or Vodka) 1/3 of 2 oz bottle filled with Raw Honey 1½ oz Water for Tea 1 Throat Coat Tea Bag 1 Peppermint Tea Bag Boil 1½ oz of water and add 2 tea bags to brew a strong tea. Cover and let this mixture cool. Mix alcohol, honey, and brewed tea in 2 oz Plastic Spray Bottle. Spray liberally on throat whenever you cough, have a sore throat, a tickle, or loss of voice. The honey has some properties that are good for allergies and helps to coat your throat. The Peppermint Tea helps give it a nice taste. Throat Coat Tea does not have a great taste. The alcohol is only added to preserve the ingredients. The tea starts to taste stale if a small amount of alcohol is not used. Sending love and light... Guest guest
Sharon, That recipe brings back memories. My daddy use to mix together a whiskey/lemon/peppermint stick concoction that we would take whenever we had a sore throat. I'll have to try your recipe. :-) Thanks! ~ Melani Holt ~ : foru2bhealed: Mon, 17 Nov 2008 14:35:10 +0000 Throat Spray Recipe Hello Everyone,I recently decided to stop taking decongestants and antihistamines for Rhinitus and Sinusitus because I had read where these drugs cause Arthritis.
