Guest guest
Hi everyone. I was wondering if someone could give me a treatment for really bad sinusitis. My husband is absolutely miserable with it and has had it for a week with no relief in sight. I have been getting him to use eucalyptus steam baths, fenugreek teas, horse radish but would love to hear others ideas on this very debilitating condition. thanks, yackeden
Guest guest
Yackeden, The best advice I could offer to you and your husband would be to purchase and use daily a Neti Pot! You can learn about them here http://www.squidoo.com/netipotnasalwash or many other sites online. Abundant Blessings, Cynthia
Guest guest
Hello Yackeden, I have had this condition for most of my life. I am told that Sinusitus is usually accompanied by Rhinitus. I have them both. I currently take herbal capsules that I switch off weekly. The first thing I try to do is determine if I have a need for an antihistimine or decongestant. Antihistimine will stop reactions to allergins like runny nose or sneezing. Decongestant will dry up the runny nose and make it easier to breath. Thankfully, there are many herbal remedies for both situations. My favorites are Echinacea, Grape Seed Complex, and Astragalus. Astragalus I take only at night before bed to help me warm up. I take about 2 capsules 3 times daily. Make sure not to exceed the recommended dose on the bottle. I also take about 1000 mg of Vitamin C daily that is time released. I make sure I am taking some Calcium along with the Vitamin C. Lastly, make sure it's not a sinus infection. That may need to be treated differently. Sending you love and light... Guest guest
Hi yackeden, Myself & my daughter have both had this same condition. I know how painful it can be. We used a nettie pot. They sell them at your local health food store. Its a little kettle looking pot that you put saline solution in. You insert the spout into the right nostril, and let the solution run thru your sinus and out the left nostril. I know it sounds weird but it works. 100 % for us. It cleans out the mucus and helps dry the sinus out. They sell many differnt brands but i like the " SinuCleanse " brand . everything is included in the box. you can see it at www.sinucleanse.com. I hope this can help you. Amber --- On Sun, 11/16/08, yackeden <yackeden wrote: > yackeden <yackeden > Treatment for sinusitis? > > Sunday, November 16, 2008, 11:19 PM > Hi everyone. Guest guest
A neti pot for nasal irrigation would probably be your best bet if the other 'tricks' aren't working. Guest guest
I swear by the Neti Pot nasal cleanse. It rinses out the nasal passages taking the pressure off the nasal cavities. It gets rid of the excess mucus that sometimes tends to run down into the throat and irritates it. ~ Melani Holt ~ : yackeden: Mon, 17 Nov 2008 07:19:24 +0000 Treatment for sinusitis? Hi everyone. Guest guest
The neti pot is great , it works even better if you add either sea salt or silver to the water that you are using. Guest guest
Hello Cindy, I never heard this rumor. Do you know where did she learn that? What kind of enzymes do you use? I take vegetarian enzymes without any problem and I give them to my dog also. Rena - C indy Tuesday, November 18, 2008 7:57 AM Re: Treatment for sinusitis? Guest guest
Hi, try a drop of ,myrtle oil, internally, under the tongue and hold it there for a minute before swallowing. Repeat every few hours. This clears the mucus that is built up in the sinus cavities. You can also do a drop of pure oregano oil as well, the same way, one drop only, but it will probably feel like a strong burning sensation. That will pass in a few minutes, and the oregano acts like an anti biotic. I've been using this method for years, with family and with clients. The myrtle is fine alone and is available online very cheaply. I have been using lemon myrtle lately, but all the myrtles are fine. Guest guest
Hi there, I also suffer severely from both sinusitis and allergies and I use a product which you can pick up in the drugstore (chemist) called SimplySaline, this seems to work just as good as the pr-mixed solutions. The neti-pot is also good. I also love to use the hot water method with the towel over your head with some Olbas oil. Olbas oil is great to use for I will also place a few drops on a handkerchief and place it under my pillow case and it helps quit abit during the night or while out . Hope these suggestions will help. Take care Izabel --- On Wed, 11/19/08, K.H <theartsofhealing wrote: K.H <theartsofhealing Re: Re: Treatment for sinusitis?
