Hi Folks,

My name is Tim from North Carolina and I am a recent member of this

group, first time posting.

I have a question regarding trees and other plants that can be grown for

medicinal purposes.

I write a weekly series on forest gardening

For those who might not know, forest gardening is a type of permaculture

in which trees and other plants are grown for food, fuel, fiber,

medicine and other renewable resources in a method that mimics a

woodland ecosystem or forest edge.

What I hope to get from this group is some ideas of what trees and other

plants that could be grown for their medicinal qualities. For example,

I know that Witch Hazel is a large bush/small tree whose bark and leaves

can be processed into an astringent.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Cordially,

Tim Gamble
