Hi all

I have exzma on my hands.... My R hand is affected more than the L.... I have

horizontal cracks on the fingers.... the skin is peeling of; It is mostly in the

area where the fingers touch - the sides

I didn't feel like putting the steroid cream on as suggested by my dermo

(Clobetasol Propionate)... I'm still breastfeeding....

Is there anything natural I could use that wouldn't interfere with the

breastfeeding?

thank you

Ann

Eat foods with extra virgin olive oil.  Dont go overboard, just add it to

spaghetti sauce or your salads. Since you are breatfeeding, I'd ask my md about

anything I ate and I would research it further on the internet.

Hi Ann,

Where is the eczema exactly ? on your palms or back of hand ?

See if you have being applying petroleum jelly in abundance because

overuse of petroleum based products can dry up the skin to the level

of cracks and peelings.

I have successfully taken care of eczema on my hands by puncturing a hole in a

fish oil capsule and applying a drop or two regularly throughout the day.  It

cleared up a very, very itchy dry, flaky spot that had not responded to the RX

cortisone cream.  Anyway, you might give it a try.

Thank you for your response

The exzma is on my fingers; on all fingers of my right hand (except the thumb

and the point finger); it is mostly on the side of the fingers facing the palm

although I started having red spots (which look like tiny blisters) on the other

side of fingers as well

When I try to make a fist the cracks really hurt

I do have little bit of redness on the left hand as well (mid finger and the

ring finger) but very little

I buy all natural hand creams and I bought one body lotion for my baby which has

many natural oils and when I applied it to my baby skin she turned red and my

fingers started to itch a lot

Now I am using Cetaphil and I don't itch as much but the exzma is still there...

I have applied vitamin A in a capsule but only for one day and it moisturizes

the skin nice

Hello F.

Can you give any information that explains how using petroleum based

products can cause cracking and peeling?  My Dad's foot Dr. just told him to

load up the vaseline and put on a white cotton sock.  I had heard this is not

good but just need some info to show the folks.

Thanks so much.
