Guest guest
My wife has always bruised really easily and has never found the reason why.It can be embarrassing for her as she has just finished climbing stepladders for decorating and is bruised all down her legs and arms from the ladders for no reason. This can happen all over her body without a bad knock to cause the bruising. Guest guest
She may be taking too much vitamin c or any of the oils. I'd double check with a doctor too, to see if there is a problem with the blood. --- On Sat, 10/4/08, Brian <briantortoise3234 wrote: Brian <briantortoise3234 Easily bruises Saturday, October 4, 2008, 2:43 AM My wife has always bruised really easily and has never found the reason why.It can be embarrassing for her as she has just finished climbing stepladders for decorating and is bruised all down her legs and arms from the ladders for no reason. This can happen all over her body without a bad knock to cause the bruising. Guest guest
If this has always been the case for her, it may be a genetic condition called VonWillebrands. I have been able to manage it for myself and my children most effectively by diet and avoidance of blood-thinning drugs and unnecessary medical procedures. Guest guest
My wife doesnt take any vitamin C or any oils and this is not a genetic condition. She has been tested for a blood condition but nothing showed up. I have looked up VonWillebrands and this is not what is wrong with my wife.Still none the wiser and neither are the doctors but my wife still feels down covered in bruises and to be honest i feel like a wife beater at times when people look at my wifes bruises, then look at me. The bruises are mostly on the arms and legs about the size of a thumb print each. The blood test left a bruise that lasted several weeks from the needle, this always happens as well. Guest guest
Maybe she is deficient in vitamin C. Have her try taking some vitamin C with bioflavonoids, about 1000-4000 milligrams a day. Guest guest
Hi Brian and wife, I also bruise really easily. I have something called Hypermobility syndrome. It means I can touch my toes very easily, but even if your wife cant, she still may have the syndrome. Another sign is 'doughy', soft skin. I hope this helps, if nothing else you could rule it out!!. All the best Heather , Brian <briantortoise3234 wrote: > > My wife doesnt take any vitamin C or any oils and this is not a genetic condition. She has been tested for a blood condition but nothing showed up. Guest guest
I'm with Linda Bumpas. My first reaction was try vitamin C to strengthen the capillaries. I'd try a rich natural source of Vitamin C, with all the co-factors, before anything else. I have come to love Camu Camu, and here is a cheap bulk source for it: http://naturalzing.com Ien in the Kootenays visit my blog http://freegreenliving.com the food that saves my brain http://wildwholefoods.net
Guest guest
I suggest a blood test from a GP to rule out any of the Lymphoma's or Leukemia before you try anything else > Maybe she is deficient in vitamin C. Guest guest
Does she take any kind of NSAID or cox-2 inhibitor pain relievers? Asprin, advil, aleve, or prescription ones? I used to have severe problems with bruising. For instance, my knuckles were bruised from knocking on a door. My family thought I was being beaten! I had been on various nsaids for knee pain and inflammation. After many blood tests that left me equally bruised and a clotting test (my clotting time turned out to be slow), they determined it was from the medication. My reaction was apparently severe. I tried different ones but they all caused bruising eventually (or ulcers). Taking Bioflavinoids may help by strengthening the capillary walls. Guest guest
I am assuming your physician has ruled out Idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP). It is a condition that varies in severity, and bruising and bleeding. The cause is a lower than normal platelet count which can vary depending on the severity of the condition. Richard Fear is a natural reaction to moving closer to the truth. ---Pema Chödrön

Asprin, advil, aleve, or prescription ones? < Nothing except the ocasional headache tablets, she does have strange cramps/tingles in her arms and some strange lumps on her biceps which the doctors said was just gristle though. Both the arm cramps and the bruising were dismissed by specialists as unknown but not dangerous. Guest guest
Vitamin K is the clotting factor very important. Vitamin C helps to rebuild capilaries. I would also throw in vitamin D for the antioxiants. Have the docs run her genetic profile? DP
Guest guest
>Have the docs run her genetic profile?< i'm not even sure they do that in The UK. These are all the strange problems with my wife. unexplained lumps on biceps that cause pins and needles in her hands, doctors put it down to unexplained gristle. Unexplained bruising, doctors ran blood tests nothing abnormal detected. Very sudden breathing problems, throat constricted and colapsed within 3 minutes.(anophaleptic shock, if spelt right) treat with 2 epi pens for adrenalin. Most likely caused by a multi vitamin tablet taken twenty minutes earlier.Doctor ran allergy tests, nothing showed up. Even small amounts of vitamin c in tablets, orange juice etc cause cistitus so she avoids vitamin c if possible. Hope this extra info helps her. --- On Mon, 10/13/08, prattdw2000 <prattdw2000 wrote: prattdw2000 <prattdw2000 Re: Easily bruises Monday, October 13, 2008, 8:26 PM Vitamin K is the clotting factor very important.
