I understand Holy Basil is good as well, although it didn't really work for me - also, the B vitamins are good as well... --- On Sat, 9/27/08, joanne_cromp <joanne_cromp wrote: joanne_cromp <joanne_cromp Anxiety Panic Disorder Saturday, September 27, 2008, 6:42 PM Are there any supplements I can take for severe panic anxiety disorder? She has a whole section called ~Taming Stress and Anxiety~ that you may find helpful. There are many herbs to tone and strenghten the nervous system to better deal with stress and anxiey. Some that come to mind are lemon balm, oatstraw, valerian, hops, chamomile, skullcap. Guest guest
As a herbalist I get this question often so I created a page with information on natural alternatives to panic attacks and anxiety. Anxiety and panic attacks How to deal with them naturally Many people deal with anxiety disorders, including disorders such as obsessive-compulsive disorders (OCD), acute stress disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder and generalized anxiety disorder. Many factors can contribute, trauma, chemical sensitivity, caffeine, heredity, drugs, alcohol and lifestyle choices. As an Herbalist this is one condition many people consult me about. People have been able to manage their anxiety attacks with natural alternatives and feel much better. When using natural remedies give the program time, and also work on diet and lifestyle, along with taking your supplements. Work closely with your doctor and/or herbalist. Panic disorder is about twice as common with women as men. Women tend to deal with stress differently. Herbs and other natural supplements have been known to help many control panic attacks and other anxiety disorders. When dealing your health through natural alternatives you want to get to the root of the problem which usually is lack of nutrients, stress and toxins in the body.
