has anyone got any ideas to stop migraines and headaches from food

sensitivity? They started when I was 35 and I get them after eating

certain foods. I avoid those foods as much as I can, but is there

anything that can help?

When it comes to allergies the two things that have helped is to build

up the immune system. I have also used acupunture they have a

technique called NAET. This technique seems to help the body deal with

the allergy. If anyone knows more about NAET please post.

My girlfriend had migraines for years. She finally took my advice and

eliminated gluten from her diet and no more headaches!

If you already know what triggers your headaches, can't you just avoid

those foods totally? That would seem the most logical. There are

supplements that can help, but start with the food.

The best thing I have found for turning around a headache is Pure

Camu. It is the dried whole fruit of the Camu Camu from the Amazon

Rainforest. Camu contains the highest concentration of naturally

occurring vitamin C of any known plant (30 times more than oranges).

Besides the vitamin C, Camu is also full of trace minerals and micro

nutrients that effect the neurotransmitters of the brain and act as a

mood elevator. I think the reason it works so well for headaches

though is because it opens of the blood vessels and improves

circulation which will take away the pressure causing the headache.

I have found that if I drink it when I realize a migraine is coming

on, it will stop it in its tracks and turn it around. It even helps

with ocular migraines which aren't as painful but can be very

aggravating because they can distort your vision so badly.

There are lots of migraine triggers you might not be aware of. Nuts,

Cheese, caffeine, chocolate - as well as those bad things we try to

avoid like MSG and Aspertame. Even bright sunlight, if it reflects

off of something into your eyes can start one going. Sometimes it's

not one thing but a buildup of many like when we eat too many good

things during the holidays. If you are a diet soda drinker, that's

probably the worst so if you can learn to live without it you may not

even have the headaches anymore.

Hi..

I make feverfew tincture for my migraines and it works fantastic, however,

never thought to use

lavender with it. Would you be willing to share the formula for the tincture?

Thanks

Hi. I can't share the recipe since I bought the tincture from a friend. I've

started making tinctures but haven't made that one sorry. How does the one

taste you make for migraines, this one is awful and I'd like to try something

else. It smells so good and tasted so awful!!

Camu Camu is a berry growing in the Amazon rainforest that is the

world's richest source of natural vitamin C. Its qualities go way beyond

being a nice source of C. It has an uplifting energy and makes you

feel kind of cheerful and alert. I plan to get a winter's supply before

the long grey days start again.

This is the first time I have seen it mentioned as a remedy for

migraines, but if it works for Claire, that's all that counts.

That's what this list is all about, sharing what works for us.

" Pure Camu " is the brandname of Amazon Herb Company's product. Much of

the camu camu on the market is stretched with other substances.

This omne is pure 100% dried powdered berries and nothing else.

It is superb, I love it, AND I found a product almost as good for a

fraction of the price at this store: http://naturalzing.com

This could be a general post here, but Kimmy (and others) would you be

willing to share your recipes for tinctures and what they're used for? There

are so many out there but buying the ingredients and then mixing them up

only to not have the results you hope for is a bummer. Folks that have their

own recipes that might be willing to share would be awesome since I would

consider them " tried and true " :-)

Thanks for the consideration.

Hi Rena,

As far as I know, it is not possible to buy the fresh fruit of the

Camu Camu here. It just would not stay fresh long enough to make the

trip. Amazon Herb's Pure Camu is picked, dried and processed in the

rainforest to preserve the freshness. You just add it to a bottle of

water and shake it up to rehydrate it.

I used it again today very successfully to stop a headache. I have

decided to give up caffeine and it is always extremely difficult for

me because I get terrible headaches when I try. Today, I just drank

the Camu and the pain and pressure went away and so did that fuzzy

headed feeling. Tomorrow, I won't wait to see if the headache starts,

I'll just drink the Camu and not worry about it.

You can contact me directly if you want more information.

Thanks,

Claire

Certainly it is possible to eat the fresh berries, if you happen to

live in Peru or Brazil. I buy the powder and mix about a gram with a

liter of water. That would be about half a teaspoon. It makes a nice

refreshing drink, mild citrusy flavor with a slight bitter edge to it.

It really perks me up.

The Amazon herb Company product comes in handy single serving pouches

that really help to keep it fresh. It is an excellent product, but the

bulk one by Natural Zing is so much cheaper it is ridiculous. Next time

I get some I will keep it in the freezer.

My comment is: Camu Camu is certainly a wonderful berry and I would

include this in your diet; however; the reason the Camu Camu Berry;

works so well to help with food sensitivites is:

Camu Camu Berry is the world's richest source of Vitamin C knwon; so

this is why it helps so much because Vit. C is a great antioxidant;

Vitamin C is also a great Chelator of heavy metals; the other

Vitamins which help chelate chemicals are Vit. B6 Pyroxidine; so I

would buy either the Vit. C tabs or Camu Camu and Vitmain B6; then

when ever you have food reaction; pop a Vit. C Camu or a vit. b6 tab.

this is my opinon; anna 57 usa PS NO CHINESE RESTAURANT FOOD ALLOWED!
