Guest guest
I bet many of you have problems with your body weight. May be you have gone to a gym, and you workout almost everyday. But in the end, still you do not make any significant change to your weight. This failure makes you desperate and it stops you from exercising and you no longer care about your weight. Because in your mind you believe that whatever you do you will not succeed. So, before you do a weight loss program, there are some informations that you should know so you won't go into the wrong steps in your program. Do you know how our body store the fat? The formula is this: intake calorie > used calorie. Yes, when we consume more calorie then we used them, then our body will store the unused calories. The analogy is like saving your money in the bank. When you have bigger income than the money you spend, then you will save the rest in the bank. There are three macro nutrients, which are carbohydrate, protein, and fat. And from the three of that, the most possible nutrients to cause the fat storing are carbohydrate and fat. And we know that the serving of carbohydrate and fat in our meal is easier than the serving of protein. Beside that, fat , which contain very high calories, give the delicious taste to food, so that it is considered as an important element in building the appetite. While the excessively consuming of carbohydrate cause more production of insulin. Insulin is a hormone which instructs our body to store fat. So, the excess calorie from carbohydrate and the big instruction signal from a lot number of insulin make the body store calories from carbohydrate in a fat layer. .... .... .... read the full story at: http://doctorexplains.com/2008/08/18/what-should-i-do-to-loss-my-weight/
Guest guest
I was just talking to my about this yesterday. The best program for weight loss that I know is the one by Dr. Abravanel. He categorizes people in 4 groups according to body shape and hormones. While on it, I lost 20 lb in about 2 months. It was great. However, the problem with the theory of the 3 micronutients and weight loss is that it is very hard for vegetarians to follow. Any approach to weight loss implies that we should eat more protein than carbs but it is very difficult for vegetarians. You may try to eat as much " vegetable " protein as possible, but since the food is not varied, it gets really tiresome and one ends up giving up the program (as it happened to me and the thyroid program of Dr. Abravanel) I was telling my son about the difference between a cow and tiger. Vegetarianism does not contribute to weight loss. Has anyone had success in losing weight and being a vegetarian? I would love to know. Guest guest
Hello Maria, I became a vegetarian in 1992 because I was very ill at the time, and it helped me with alleviate some symptoms. I felt better, so I continued. I did have a slight weight loss in the beginning, but it quickly came back. I would agree that being a vegetarian does not help with weight loss. Most people make up the loss of calories by eating more of foods other than meat. You can gain weight from eating only whole grains and nuts if indulgent. Years ago I worked at a health food restaurant, where I actually gained weight because I didn't realize just how many calories were in the cheese for example. Health food restaurants seem to have gotten better over the years and don't pile the cheese so high. Sending you love and light...
