Saint John's Wart

There are a few herbs which help and breathing exercises too which help in

addition to drinking enough pure water a day - about 2.5L for the average

adult. Some VitaminB complexes have trace elements in them which include

Lithium which is very good for depression - the natural Lithium on which the

eventual commercially produced drug was design is essential for health and

is sometimes deficient in the diet. St John's Wort usually has an

indication on the bottle how much to take - it depends on the strength of

the formula what that might be. Kava Kava may also be available where you

live which is another great booster and also a general vitamin and mineral

supplement helps too - Swisse brand is popular here and seems to work well.

Depression has many causes - homeopathy helps with emotional causes, shocks

and traumas - different remedies for different people.

Best,

Jane

I was prescribed a SSRI (Prozac, Lexapro) as an

anti-depressant/anti-anxiety. I did not want the negative side

effects especially loss of sex drive, so I take the supplement 5-HTP

instead.

Note spelling: Wort (not wArt!) - I use this as a sleep aid but it may indeed

help with depression. Obviously I can't say it will definitely work in your

case. I too was on prozac for a short time and I hated it. I would like to

recommend to you large doses of vitamin C (build up slowly to bowel tolerance

level - using a good quality ascorbic acid or sodium ascorbate powder (cheap to

buy on internet) - also get a good source of trace minerals. Find a good source

for iodine ie potassium iodide (Iodoral or Lugol's solution) - when you have all

these in your system then go for an 8 hour walk or run to the point of complete

exhaustion. When you get home have a bath with 6-10 drops of lavender essential

oil. Get a good night's sleep and then tell me how you feel the next morning.

The ingrediant that is the most effective is the iodine. You are probably

hypothyroid and the iodine helps the pituitary to fuction properly, hence the

adrenaline is regulated. I would go careful on the vitamin C as it has a

reaction in the liver. best wishes Mike Maskery

Hi. I got a bunch of Saint John's Wart made for me in hopes it would help

with my depression. It didn't work very well for me but I have a lot of it

left over and don't want to throw it away. I'm willing to send it to anyone

interested. The saint John's Wart is in capsules. If interested please

contact me off list at

kilauea6

so as not to clog up the group.
