Guest guest
Is there a particular term for the small " ridge " of tissue that occurs just below the skin after a 4 inch incision heals? The surface of my incision seems to be healing fine, but there is this slightly raised " ridge " of scar (?) tissue beneath the surface. It has no indication of getting bigger.... When my dog had surgery, the therapy vet had me gently rub it to disperse that tissue, but my doctor says mine will just go away on its own....? If I should be doing something now (3 weeks post surgery), then I'd like to start doing it. The arnica I took pre & post surgery did wonders for the healing process. Now I'm using coconut oil & vitamin e for the superficial scarring. Does anyone have any thoughts to offer about this particular tissue? -Compliments on a very informative group! You offer lots of valuable information & support. Many thanks, Ann
