Hi, How about reversing the hypothyroidism altogether and needing no medication? :) It's possible! I did it, a friend of mine at work did it, another gal on this list (Sylvia) did it, and your better half can do it also! LOL! Request Doc's free tape, listen to it, and do the Total Body Cleanse. It worked for us! :)

Best,

Kelli

YOU BETTER BELIEVE IT! What Kelli said is correct.

I was on Synthroid for over 3 years and rather than my health

improving, it continued to fail! The longer on the Synthroid the

more things continued to fail and then i had to increase my doseage

after a year because i was still tired/gaining/losing hair, dry skin

ETC!!!!!!!!

I did the TB/Master cleanse in January and quit my Synthroid COLD

Turkey, and feel better now than i did prior to my Hypo-thyroid

diagnosis (i just had blood work done 2 weeks ago and my thryorid

levels are fine) Also i have finally lost some weight and skin and

hair look fantastic.

Request the tape today and start reading about the cleanse also the

dwindling spiral of health article. Physicians are NOT going to tell

you that this can be done (it's not in their best interest to help

you, because then you wont need them) my new DO was shocked that i

told him i quit my Sythroid; i laughed at him and said " how can I

argue about feeling great, my lab results and the fact that my over-

all-health was failing when i was on the meds compared to now?? " He

did not have anything to say and just smiled!

You and hubby are about to wake up, i assure you, not to mention if

you BOTH stick to this, enjoy a better quality of life.

Hope i dont sound like a fanatic, but when you go from horrible to

WOW, it's really hard not to be excited and want others to feel the

same.

  • 2 months later...

I have just recently learned about herbal remedies etc. It bothers me

because one.. I have grown up in the " conventional " doctors actually

very few people grow up with holistic doctors.. I think mostly because

insurance doesn't cover them

Second I am so scared of ganing the weight back that I have fought for 6

years to take off now because of my thyroid and fear of getting a goider

or getting those icky depression feelings back again..

Anyway the herbal stuff is all new to me (I am talking within 4 months

new) I do not trust all conventional doctors, But as far as my thyroid,

before I knew what was wrong..I got all the hypothyroid symtoms to

extreme. I went from a size 6 to a size 12 in a matter of a year and

half. The other doctors kept telling me I was having depression

issues.. it wasn't till someone told me to get my thyroid checked that I

finally asked them to check into it and that that is what was actually

wrong, Not depression.

I can't go so a holistic doctor because our insurance doesn't cover it

and my husband refuses to pay for that " spiritual " crap as he considers

it unfortunately.

so maybe after I understand herbals on a much longer and deeper level I

will be able to take that step.

thx for your understanding

Deana, if you email Doc (the listowner here -- the information is on the web

site and in the information you received when you joined the list) and

receive his cassette tape and listen to it, you are entitled to one free

telephone consultation with him. You just may get more out of that free

tape and consultation than any " insurance-covered " doctor visit you'll ever

make.

Since i'm on and posting at the moment, i will confirm what Jen

said. I take Kelp every day. 2 Caps each morning.

IN addition to supplements, a cleaner diet is the key to healing a

sick thyroid and keep it healthy.

I'm sure if you do a seach in the archives based on Thyroid you will

find a lot of posts on the subject (lots from me and Kelli hehehe)

The main thing is, be positive and know that there are lots of

alternatives to Conventional medicine (i.e.: dont take

pharmaceuticals!)

Lygol's Solution is no longer available over the counter in the US. LS can

be used to make methamphetamine so it's off the counter. You can still

purchase it in Mexico and Canada. Please do in-depth research prior to the

use of this product.

One of the main drawbacks of synthroid is that it is connected to

increased osteoporosis with regular use.

Addressing Thyroid related health disorders:

Sometimes (most often is more accurate) the thyroid gland and in

general the glandular system takes over the burden of detoxification

(internal cleaning) when the regular channels of elimination are

overburdened. So, number one on the " to do " list with a thyroid

problem is to pay attention to and help your detoxification organs

(intestinal tract, liver, kidneys, and lungs) to function at full

effectiveness. Doing this job will assist in relieving any

detoxification burden on your thyroid gland that can be relieved.

To explain the above concept further, here's an example of how the

detoxification system is related to the glandular system. It is a

well known medical fact, that certain forms of harmful bacteria can

produce toxic substances in the intestinal tract. These toxic

substances travel to the liver from the intestines and impair the

liver's ability to manufacture and utilize T3 (T3 is a relative of

thyroxin and it helps regulate the speed of metabolism in the

tissues). Friendly bacteria are very important to stop harmful

bacteria from producing these toxic substances. As a result of

repopulating your intestinal tract with potent friendly bacteria, your

liver should have an increased ability to function normally and this

could indirectly support your thyroid gland.

When you choose your friendly bacteria supplements, make sure they are

microblended with a whole food rich in minerals such as: acidophilus

and bifidus microblended with kelp or blue green algae -

http://tinyurl.com/24ajq and http://tinyurl.com/26rur. The minerals

in these sea vegetables enables the friendly bacteria to increase

their speed of multiplication in the gut and will also increase the

total number of organisms (friendly bacteria) that will eventually

flourish in your intestines.

Number two in the " to do " list is to make sure you're getting enough

minerals in your diet (iodine, iron and selenium). In the past,

doctors used to think that a deficiency of iodine alone was a cause of

the dysfunction of the thyroid gland. But it is known today that

selenium is critical in activating an enzyme responsible for

controlling thyroid function. However, taking isolated iodine and

selenium supplements is not a good idea because humans require only a

few micrograms of these nutrients each day to meet normal needs. Too

much of either of these minerals can produce toxicity. It is best to

find foods high in these minerals: Blue green algae -

http://tinyurl.com/g1iz, dulse, kelp and other sea vegetables are high

in iodine and selenium. When consumed as part of a whole food, these

minerals can be assimilated and utilized for thyroid hormone synthesis

by your body without fear of toxicity.

Other dietary recommendations:

• Enzyme Therapy: Since the endocrine glands are driven by

digested foods. Correcting any digestive problems with the use of

plant-based digestive enzymes is a good idea -http://tinyurl.com/mkwo

• Coconut oil is the most healthy saturated fat for the endocrine

glands. Raw butter is as good. Coconut oil stimulates thyroid

function and thus promotes weight loss in those who are overweight.

• Fruits and fruits smoothies are important to help modulate blood

sugar and calm the adrenal glands and normalize production of thyroid

hormone.

• Carrot's fiber tones the bowel, binds toxins and reduces the

reabsorption of estrogen.

• Do not drink tap water. Some city water contains organic

hydrocarbons which could result in blocking the activity of thyroid

hormones. Make sure you drink only spring water.

• Simplify your diet. Eat the following for a period of three

months: salmon, eggs (boiled), yams, fruits, and vegetables (juice

parsley, celery, carrots and apples), brown rice, seeds and nuts,

coconut butter or coconut oil for cooking.

• Supplements use is important: 300 to 400 mg. of CoQ10 (daily

for three months) - http://tinyurl.com/f1f7. Plus for the long term,

food enzymes with meals, friendly bacteria, wheat sprouts -

http://tinyurl.com/6vxtu, and blue green algae supplements.

Following this plan, you're likely to see the potential of great

improvement without the use of medications.

Along with supplements.

According to Dr. Chapman (an Osteopathic Dr.) who developed Chapman's

Neurolymphatic Reflexes. States that there might be pelvic issues going on also.

He called it the Pelvic Thyroid Syndrome. Find someone which has experience with

I take Thyroid Energy and L-Tyrosine by NOW  and they really help me.   Eat as

little as possible of cruciferous vegetables.  Even though they are healthier

raw or slightly cooked, I cook them...  I also take my temperature every morning

to see, how I am doing...

I hope that helps...

You want to be careful, as a properly functioning thyroid is a vital

need for your body to be well. That said, there are much better

choices than Synthroid.

Armour is a more natural prescription that offers both T4 and T3,

which your body needs. Some doctors consider it *old time* medicine,

but it definitely is still in use. I took Synthroid for 7 years and

never felt well. Then I switched to Armour after I found a new doctor

who would consider prescribing it and felt tons better.

Currently, I treat my hypothyroidism with Solaray Thyroid Caps alone.

I take one, three times a day, and that suits my body well. But,

again, everyone is different.

Can you get to the point where you don't even need a supplement? Who

knows? I bet anything is possible. It probably depends on what all

you're willing to do, how long your thyroid has been malfunctioning,

etc. For now, this works well for me. It seems safe; it's inexpensive;

I can't see any drawbacks. But I may try to see how well I do without

it one day! I do feel like my thyroid must be functioning better plus

I feel I'm much better off than I would have been if I'd stayed on

Synthroid all these years.

Hi all,

For diagnosing thyroid problems yourself, Dr Broda Barnes flound a way

many years ago to do this. http://drbate.com/Ref/thyroid.html is a web

page that describes this simple test.

Armour thyroid is the best and most natural solution. It is also

available from Canadian drug stores by mail order at much lower prices.

For much more free alternate (drugless) health information see that

website.
