Guest guest
I have the same problem. Some doctors might say to give blood twice a year or so. This was not for me. I was cooking with cast iron cookware and I had to stop that. Also ,I read that black tea ( not sure about green) binds with iron and releases it from the body. So, the article said, don't drink tea with your meal if you are anemic. I made the conclusion that I would drink tea with a meal and it should have the opposite effect. I made a list of all foods high in iron and try to avoid those. I seem to be doing better. She will be going back for a second blood test in 3 months. Her Doctor told her to cut down on the leafy greens and red meat in the mean time. Does anyone have any ideas to get the excess iron out of her blood? ~Leese This is my birth verse: Acts 2:28 NIV You have made known to me the paths of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence.' Guest guest
Drinking red tea after every meal will prevent iron in foods to be digested, and I advice her to check liver functions. Guest guest
Your friend needs to be checked for hemochromatosis. 30% of the european population have the gene for this and it causes excess storage of iron in your blood. It requires a special test for it. If it is that, they will get her to donate blood until her iron levels are down. Otherwise, drinking tea helps block absorbtion of iron.
