Guest guest
In my 40's and have been able to pinpoint when an anxiety episode may occur - about 1 1/2 to 2 weeks before I get a cramp. I've been able to time this, however I do not know what else I can use for support. I do yoga, breathing, meditation, take extra b's, b6 to help me get through. I was seeing a chiro who suggested a hormone cream, but I stopped going to him because I think he confused my body. When I first started to see him he did bloodwork and he said it suggested a sluggish thyroid, so I was put on a herbal supplement for thyroid. I did feel better, but then it started to mess around with my monthly cycle and I think it switched gears back a few years. Anyway, when I was going through this thyroid work, I was spacey, almost to the point of not being able to make conscious decisions - if that makes sense. I've been off of the thyroid for few months and mentally, my mind is sharper and I am aware of what I am doing throughout the day. Any thoughts? Guest guest
Hi Marie, Compromised thyroid function is very common for women during perimenopause. It's important to remember that the entire endocrine system is impacted due to hormonal changes. That includes the pancreas so blood sugar issues often arise which sometimes contribute to anxiety. And, don't forget our tired adrenal glands which many researchers now believe is the root cause of hypothyroidism. It's good that you're seeking balance now as things can only become more challenging as progesterone continues to drop in perimenopause. I would recommend a high quality progesterone cream or MACA. You can visit my web site for the products I recommend (not MLM, just products I've found to be the best and most effective). Guest guest
I also have a thyroid condition that is driving me to the point of madness. My doctor put me on Sythroid and it nearly made me lose my mind so I stopped taking it.I grew up with a parent who had high blood pressure so I had become accustomed to not eating an adequate amount of salt in my diet. I have been taking kelp tablets but it has not worked as fast as I would like. I am tired of being tired and my weight is a depressing issue expecially since I had started walking 4 miles every other day to get it down. I was practically living at the gym and was able to keep up with the calories that I was burning with the calculator on the machines. For energy, I would take green tea supplements which worked well for a short period of time. But no matter how hard I worked to lose the weight (eating spinach salads only). I could not lose weight. After my Gyn noticed that my neck appeared to be a bit swollen, I had an ultrasound that showed three small goiters.I am curious as to what herbal treatments may help me with this other than kelp for iodine intake. It has gotten to the point where I dont recognize myself anymore and takes an effort for me to even look in the mirror. Thanks in advance , " Michelle " <michelle wrote: > > Hi Marie, > > Compromised thyroid function is very common for women during > perimenopause.
