Australian Song Flag Workshop

Immerse yourself into the totems of Australia, connect with

these amazing animals and paint their colourful symbols on

your own Song Flags and call in healing.

Sunday, July 6th.

10 am – 4 pm at:

The Caritas Spiritist Center

3775 Iris Ave., Suite 3B, Boulder 303-449-3066

$90.00 - fee covers instruction and materials.

Please bring food to share for lunch and morning & afternoon tea.

Song Flags are the aboriginal equivalent to the wonderful Tibetan Prayer

Flags. " Singing things up " is akin to praying, meditating, calling in

your totem energies for guidance, protection or help.

In this workshop we will explore the strengths and characteristics of

these amazing Australian animals, connect to them and then one by one

paint their symbols on our own

flags.

We have been given permission to use the uniquely Aboriginal style of

painting to create our own beautiful Flags.

Your completed flags are to be hung up outside to wave in the wind, to

give life and energy to the symbols, to call in peace and harmony and to

honour the elementals and the

universe from which we all come. These flags will assist in your healing

and that of your family, community and mother Earth. As they move in the

flow of the breeze they energize and balance.

Sue Ewart is a Celtic/Australian woman is honoured to bring the 'Song

Flag Workshop' to Loveland.USA. In Australia Sue is a drum maker and

drum making teacher, an alternative healer with stone massage, medicine

wheel healing and journey work. She and her husband Don manufacture

tipis and teach Straw Bale Building. Together they are very active with

Spiritual Unity of the Tribes 'bringing the four coloured races together

in a good way supporting Black Elk's vision' and have many strong bonds

and friendships with Aboriginal Elders around Australia.

Minmia is an Aboriginal senior woman, grandmother, educator, artist and

healer. She is a custodian of women's lore/law of the Wirradjirri people

(an Aboriginal nation in New South Wales stretching down to Dunedoo in

Victoria). Minmia believes strongly that these powerful symbols need to

be releasedand that they need people to connect to. They need to be

honoured and energized for their own healing and to help heal mother

earth. To support this evolution, Min has given her permission for Sue

to teach this workshop and pass on the knowledge. You can read more

about Minmia and her works and recently published book " Under the

Quandong Tree " www.minmia.com.au <http://www.minmia.com.au/>

PLEASE BRING: Newspaper to dry your flags on, an old t-shirt or apron,

something to mix paints in if you have it (old ice cube tray or egg

tray) your own

brushes if you have favourites we will be using acrylic fabric paint.
