Guest guest
Hello! My name is Angel and i just started massage therapy school at Everest college a few weeks ago. I really like the material we go over, but to be quite honest, i didn't expect it to be quite this complex. I'm doing good in my classes so far, but am having a hard time retaining it all. My question is, should i be more concerned on the techniques, or the terminology? PLEASE give me any advice you have, i'd really appreciate it!! Guest guest
My openion is to concentrate on technique, with its terminology, you will gain all , but needs time, every thing starts hard, day after day you will be profissional, talk to your colleagues about terminology to remember every term .It is very easy but you need to try. Good luck. Eimo53 , " heavenlyhippo21 " <heavenlyhippo21 wrote: > > Hello! My name is Angel and i just started massage therapy school at > Everest college a few weeks ago. Guest guest
Hi Angel, In my personal experience, and in my massage practice the terminology is mostly important for passing the tests, greduating from massage school, and getting certified. Once the tests are passed and you are certified the techniques are much more important. I'm a few years out of massage school, and while I've forgotten most of the names of the insertions and origins of the muscles, my hands understand and know the details. I guess that I'm trying to say that learning the terminology educates and illuminates the techniques. I highly recommend finding a study partner. Studying Anatomy and Physiology gave me an appreciation for the human body in all it's amazingness that I just didn't have before. I'm grateful for my intensive massage school education. Good luck in school! Best regards, Amy Milder http://www.nmnaturalhealing.com/practitioners/view/amy_f*_milder
