Guest guest
I had my first visit to an acupuncturist yesterday. I could feel my hands and feet buzzing while I had the needles in me, so I am pretty sure that energy was flowing. This acupuncturist makes dietary suggestions. She starts you out with a few, and slowly builds on that. She told me: 1. Remove all meat other than Fish. I can eat all fish, but not eel. 2. Remove all oils (even healthy oils like flax and Coconut) 3. Remove all vitamins and supplements (I was taking vit A,C, E, B complex, multivitamin, flax oil, fish oil, glucosamine/chondroiton) Not sure why she wants me to do this, but I am going to follow her instructions as she is the expert. Does she possibly think I am toxic from too many supplements? Is this a " yin " or cooling diet? Acupuncture is fascinating to me, but I have never studied it and don't understand it. Any idea where she might be going with this?
Guest guest
Hi. I am an acupuncturist. I would ask him/her why she is making such recommendations. It's important for you to know and if explained to you (and such advise makes sense to you), it will be easier to comply. Whenever I make recommendations to a patient, I try to explain my reasons for doing so. I also tell them if, at any time, they have a question to please ask. Afterall, education is important.
