I was wondering whether anyone had experience treating a relative,

along with traditional western therapies, for an inoperable brain

tumor. My very young daughter has an inoperable tumor and we are

undergoing radiation; however I am convinced that " complimentary " care

(I don't like using alternative as a label) will aid her more. I am

presently utilizing essential oils and antioxidants, but I need more

information. I've done countless hours of research, including looking

into several clinics (Envita in Scottsdale, Burzynski in Houston).

Any thoughts? I'm waiting for a nutritional consult to recommend some

supplements that may have shown promise.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Jon

I looked through my research materials and found some encouraging

information about L-Arginine. L-arginine, a semi essential amino

acid, has been found to inhibit the growth of several cancerous

tumors. I found some info on chet days site,

http://chetday.com/arginine.html

By doing a search on l-arginine and tumors, there are some medical

articles referring to the above.

I hope your daughter beats the cancer; radiation therapy has a rather

high success rate with many types of tumors.

These are my two cents. There isn't much evidence behind this but you

may consider cold hydrotherapy in addition to the conventional

treatments because brief cooling is known to stimulate parts of the

immune system that are responsible for killing tumor cells:

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17999770

In one experiment, rats that were immersed in cold water every day

had a significantly lower incidence of tumors and their lifespan

increased by about 5%:

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/3781978

One Russian guy named Porfiriy Ivanov claimed that cold affusions

twice a day cured him of cancer.

Aside from the stimulation of anti-tumor immunity, cold hydrotherapy

such as gradual cold showers or cold baths can reduce fatigue,

depression, pain and possibly nausea as well (these are often

associated with cancer and cancer treatments):

exposure to cold is known to improve appetite:

Both system can't work together in this and similar cases because they oppose

one another.

Without going in much details, the natural system as I like to call it, uses

different therapies to strength the immune system, helps the body eliminate

toxins and so on. On the other hand, modern medicine only uses drugs, radiation

and surgery to weaken the immune system to get rid of a tumor such as in this

case.

Yes, you can diminish some symptoms such as nausea provoked by a drug using an

herb, or sooth the effect of burning provoked by radiation using some herbal

preparation, and suppose that you are using the 2 systems, but in reality the

only thing you are doing is to minimize the damage done by these therapies that

work against nature.
