Guest guest
I don't want to bias anyone's answer by listing the names. So Below are the top ingredients in 2 popular high fiber cereals which I have tried. Cereal 1: Corn Bran, Whole grain Wheat, Wheat Bran, Corn Starch, Calcium Carbonate, and Guar Gum Cereal 2: Wheat Bran, Sugar, Psyllium Seed Husk, Oat Fiber, High Fructose Corn Syrup, salt, baking soda Personally, I liek the taste of " cereal 1 " much better. But is either one significantly better for you?
Guest guest
In my opinion both are bad. Who needs these ingredients? Rena - gmpassociates Wednesday, May 14, 2008 12:18 PM Which high fiber cereal is better for you? I don't want to bias anyone's answer by listing the names. Guest guest
I wouldn't eat either. Sugar will harm your immune system. Most corn and wheat is genetically modified and should not be consumed under any circumstances. Corn is used to fatten animals and it works the same on humans too! If you absolutely must consume cereal, look for a certified organic brand. If you are using milk with your cereal it's a double whammy of junk food that will leave you tired and mucousy. Why not try just plain old oatmeal or other cooked cereal? The closer to nature your food is, the healthier you will stay for the rest of your life and the more energetic you'll be now. It's a bit more work but not that much! To increase fiber you can add some bran to your oatmeal or other multigrain mixture (look in the bulk section of your health food store for some and experiment). Spelt is quite high in fiber, especially the whole grain one and it has a nutty flavor. In Norway apparently children are given oatmeal with grated carrots added for breakfast in school and they have found performance in school improved with it. Sorry, I do not remember where I read that so I hope it's true! Hope this is helpful to you!
