Guest guest
As I posted on here last week I believe, my 15 month old daughter has pneumonia. They put her on a STRONG antibiotic for it because they didn't want to mess around with pneumonia. I was trying to give her more yogurt and also supplemented with acidophilus twice a day, but apparently it wasn't enough because she now has a yeast infection. The doctor's office said to put Lotrimin on it which I'm not crazy about, but I can see how red and irritated it is and felt I should do something. I think it's also irritating her when she urinates. Are there other things that I can do? She has 3 more days of the antibiotics. If I keep up with the acidophilus afterwards, will she eventually balance out? Thanks, Paula
Guest guest
How did she get a yeast infection? Are there other members of the family infected? If so, everybody should get rid of it. Otherwise you are going to deal with this problem for quite some time. The antibiotics taken during the pneumonia weakened her immune system. Now these set of antibiotics will continue weakening her. What's going to come next? I don't want to scare you, but this is the reality. Acidophilus alone won't do enough. The best is to consult a naturopathic or homeopathic doctor who can evaluate her and see what she needs. In the meantime there's a product called DanActive, which is much stronger than acidophilus. You can buy it in Publix. Hygiene and not to share towels is extremely important. My best, Rena - Paula Tuesday, May 06, 2008 10:06 AM Need a natural treatment for vaginal yeast infection in toddler! Guest guest
Paula, I'm not a doctor but I would highly recommend washing your babies nethers with a good colloidal silver at least two or three times a day. It could help avoid any infection. Good Luck! , " Paula " <pokeracepj wrote: > > As I posted on here last week I believe, my 15 month old daughter has > pneumonia. Guest guest
Paula, a high quality collodial silver put on a cotton ball and dabbed on the area, let air dry will help get rid of this. Only use plain organic yogurt as the others have sugars which will feed the yeast. Dabbing the area with a little bit of this yogurt will help heal it too. Remove fruit juices and other sugars from her diet right now. You can use Xylitol found at health food stores as a sweetner, it will not feed the yeast. The strong antibiotics were killing off the good bacteria in the Acidophilus but you are doing the right thing. Continue to give her the Acidophilus and next time get Bifidophilus it is stronger, she can take this by sprinkling on food. Are her bowels moving at least 3x a day? I would continute her on the Acidophilus/Bifidophilus for at least a month after the antibotics. Would also add a 5 drops of the Collodial Silver to her filtered water a few times a day too for a little while. If she is having lung congestion please let me know. Also, the silver that I use and recommend is one of the few that is patented. If you would like more information, please e-mail me off line. Guest guest
Extra Virgin Coconut Oil is a natural cure for candida/yeast. You would need to consult a pediatrician or holistic doctor as to how much to feed your toddler. You could try putting directly on the infection too. , " Paula " <pokeracepj wrote: > > As I posted on here last week I believe, my 15 month old daughter has > pneumonia.
