Inflammation in eye and auto immune issue

I went in for my regular eye exam on February 1st and have had an

inflammation of my eye since then ( now over 3 months). They have tried

eye drops (including steriods for one week) which did nothing to clear

my eye up. The inflammation is causing swelling in the eye and redness (

I have had dry eye syndrome for years) but this is not just dry eye...

 

My regular eye doc sent me to a cornea specialist, which I was not

impressed with since he spent all of 5 minutes with me (as a new

patient) and just gave me another drug to put in my eye... He however

told me that when an eye has this type of inflammation for as long as I

have had it, it could be from an underlying cause. He asked me things

like do you have Lupus, Rheumatoid arthritis,etc., which I have never

been diagnosed with.. He said it is usually caused by an auto immune

issue...

 

My Nurse practioner who is actually my primary care, has me do blood

work every three months for diabetes, high cholesterol etc,... and

periodically she runs a " basic " auto immune test. and this time was one

of the times, even though she was not aware of my eye problem. The

Rheumatoid arthritis came back fine, I don't have it, but a test she ran

called ANA tests for antibodies in your system came back slightly

elevated.. I'm not sure exactly what that means except that it has

something to do with too many antibodies and they are fighting off good

cells as well as bad and they can't distinquish the difference... So...

I am wondering if any of you know of anything whether it be oils or

supplements etc, that would help to build my immune system or I guess I

should say BALANCE it, so that I can fight this inflammation in my eye

and get rid of it.. It makes it hard to see clearly and then driving

becomes difficult etc..

 

So I am open to suggestions on this health issue as well... hope to hear

back from some of you on either this issue or the one I posted earlier

on the heel pain.

 

AND PLEASE, can someone please tell me how to help this group become

more active... I have people that have joined because they want to learn

more about aromatherapy and how to use oils. I know that many of you

have a lot of experience with oils and would really appreciate some

posts from time to time, to help these new people learn more about oils

and how they work on our system, how to apply or use them and even some

blends that some of you may use... and what they are used for...

testimonials.. anything that can help others learn about essential oils.

 

I have always had an open door policy for suggestions for the group, but

I don't seem to be getting any, so I'm not sure what you would like me

to do to make this group more active and successful, especially for

those that are joining to learn more about Aromatherapy.... and our

oils...
