Since we all use to receive messages from this group, I thought I

would let you know about a free service I found called Grouply. It is the best

way I've discovered to access messages from all my . You can use

I am a member of so many groups that I found it very difficult to keep up with

all of them. Grouply makes it easy. You can search and browse across all your

groups at once and even view a cross-group event calendar. You can have one

Smart Digest email (which I love) sent to you at the end of each day that

summarizes what's going on across all your groups, highlighting what's

interesting to you and hiding what's not.

 

I've found Grouply to be a huge time-saver for me and I thought it would also be

helpful for others. Enjoy!

Grouply is under serious scrutiny (appalled scrutiny) by Groups list owners

for a wide variety of security and list violation reasons. (I know, I'm one of

them and am involved in the discussions.)

 

It IS a problem that they require your Groups ID and password - anyone

who's been on the internet for more than three seconds knows not to give out

that information to anyone who asks for it uninvited and to look askance at

anyone who does.

 

Many list owners are banning/removing people who access their lists through

Grouply, and are working with the Grouply founders to fix the serious security

problems that were discovered by list owners testing the system out of necessity

because their lists' integrity was being compromised. The problems are legion,

are being worked on (albeit with some reluctance in the case of some, and not

addressed at all in the case of the inquiry as to whether it would be possible

for Grouply to work WITHOUT the necessity of providing ID and password -

resounding silence there), However, I, for one, as a responsible list owner,

won't be allowing Grouply members to be on my lists until all the problems are

satisfactorily resolved.
