Net Neutrality Committee Vote Update by mcjoan Wed Apr 26, 2006 at 02:31:45 PM PDT The Energy and Commerce Committee has had its vote on Congressman Markey's amendment to save the Internet, and we lost, 22-34. But it's not a total loss. http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2006/4/26/173145/770 The above tries to put a positive spin on things but the fact is that Net Neutrality lost its first battle today. Please, eMail, phone or write your senators and representatives on this issue. If they do not establish this principle in law the Internet as we know it will become a walled garden owned and controlled by telephone and cable companies to the detriment of the entire country and its economy. Here are a couple of places you can get more information: http://tinyurl.com/o4oo6 http://www.freepress.net/action/ In particular visit the " SavetheInternet " link for information. If you don't have time to write a letter please at least sign their petition. http://action.freepress.net/campaign/savethenet Please tell your friends and encourage them to write as well. Please, pass this on. Thanks so much for your help for OUR INTERNET!!!
