URGENT: Help Protect Children!

 

 

 

SOS Children's Villages

 

 

Greetings:

 

The freedom to practice their own religion. The right not to be

hungry or cold. Protection from abduction, abuse, exploitation, and

neglect. The right to live. Every child deserves these fundamental

protections - everywhere and always. You can help - it is our

responsibility to speak up for the most vulnerable who are not heard.

 

We've set out to recruit 25,000 petition signatures to send to

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice urging our government to ratify

the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. The Convention has been

ratified by 192 countries. Only Somalia, which has no recognized

government, and the United States are yet to ratify this document that

aims to protect the basic rights of children. That's a shame.

It's time for our country to join the rest of the world and ratify the

Convention that offers basic rights and protections to every child.
