Guest guest
I have a friend who I'm trying to ease into a life of healthy living. It must be very overwhelming when one starts out trying to change a typical American life with the three axis' of evil, i.e. the pharmaceutical, medical and food industries. Anyway she has very high cholesterol and smokes. There is a ton of info I've found on both and how they're related but I was just wondering if anyone can think of some Particularly good articles on smoking sesation and lowering LDLs that will really help her accomplish her goals... Thank you very much, D.
Guest guest
If you do some googling you will find a lotttt of interesting links. The big question though is: is your friend herself interested in changing her habits? Best of luck! Yannic - Dave Hermanson Monday, April 24, 2006 5:28 AM Re: smoking and high cholesteral... Guest guest
For 15 years I was a smoker - building up to two packs of non-filtered gitanes a day. I got to the point of total self-disgust with myself . I tried to quit 4 times in a year and it was only on the fifth attempt that I managed it. But even then I could only do it by saying I was going to give up only until I was 60. That was 20 years ago now - and in 3 years time I'll be 60. I will definitely have one (symbolic)cigarette but I will then give up again - I feel so good not smoking. Looking back the first five days were bad but once I'd done 5 days I felt that I had beaten it and once I had done 3 weeks I knew I had completely succeeded. No-one can quit smoking for you. You've got to do it yourself. Perhaps a week of a complete change of habits (ie fasting, swimming, eating only fruit?) Good luck Jonathan Dave Hermanson <moonfish65 wrote: Exactly, I agree.
