The Cancer Society says evidence linking pesticides with cancer is growing, and it simply doesn't make sense to use a substance that could cause cancer to make a lawn look pretty. The chemical companies oversold these poisons years ago, and humanitarian aid agencies, governments, and others failed to ensure they were labeled and stored properly. Now, their containers are corroding and the pesticides are contaminating soil and water. Most can't be burned or buried. A coalition of groups, including PAN UK and PAN Africa are working to deal with this problem.
