A

Bush and Cheney Should be Prosecuted Under the RICO Act: Greg

Palast for Buzz

TOP FIVE HEADLINES

AFTERNOON EDITION

Not only did Bush and Cheney lie us into war, they divulged classified

information selectively to try and save their hides. Their lastest

confirmed betrayal of Americas is that they trashed a guy who revealed

that one of their key claims for war is a lie.

In a system of no checks and balances -- where the Republicans are

Stepford accessories to the crime and the Democrats keep calling for

" investigations " when the Republicans won't allow them and the

essential crimes are known anyway -- well, a president could get away

with murder.

Thousands upon thousands of Ameircan GIs are grievously wounded.

Nearly 2500 are dead. Tens of thousands of Iraqis have been killed.

This isn't war; it's a Bush-Cheney-Rumsfeld killing field.

Bush keeps smiling through it all, like a rich brat who believes God

is on his side of failure, immorality, lies and deception.

Our national leadership has crossed the line into something psychotic,

something beyond the normal perimeters of party jousting.

It is clinically mad.

American Theocracy: The Peril and Politics of Radical Religion, Oil,

and Borrowed Money in the 21st Century (Hardcover)

by Kevin Phillips

Read BuzzFlash.com's Review>>>

(Excerpt)

Boy do we love Kevin Phillips. What more can you say about a guy who

devised Nixon's Southern strategy and then evolved into perhaps the

most astute, historically contextual critic of the Bush Dynasty and

the current incarnation of the Republican Party. Add to that, Phillips

is a keen observer of how the amalgamation of wealth in America has

had a deleterious impact on democracy.

Plus, he is a great, frank interview, who minces no words about the

mediocrity, mendacity and venality of the Bush family.

Phillips, as one review of this just-released book notes, is not going

to receive an invitation to any Republican conventions. A couple of

years ago, he described himself as an independent to BuzzFlash, with

admiration for John McCain. So, he's no card-carrying Democrat at this

point. He yearns for a Republican Party before the oil barons and " end

times " religious fanatics took over.
