Guest guest
Hello Tammy, If you can afford it, get all in your family on the Total Nutrition - see files. This would give all the family the basic building blocks you need for a healthy body, so do all you can to find the money for this; it really is that important. For the children, also add Lemon Egg - see files; you can make this yourself at home. You can hide this in a fruit juice if necessary. For the diabetes, you say you're already working on cutting out white sugar. You need to cut out ALL sugar additives. And last but not least, improve the diet further to more fresh fruit and veg - preferably organic but if you can't afford that, just do the best you can. As much fresh fruit and veg as you can manage for all. Reduce the meat - if you cannot afford organic meat, then try cutting it out altogether. The Total Nutrition will provide enough protein. Cut out all dairy products - if you do need milk, use a replacement milk instead, such as almond milk or rice milk. Almonds are also a good source of protein. You can make this milk yourself. Have a look in the files on our website. Doc has written an article on ADD and ADHD. And there is other good information in there as far as diet is concerned. I hope this gives you a start. Let us know if/when you need more data. love Lisa - joe cline herbal remedies Friday, July 29, 2005 3:24 PM Herbal Remedies - help please! Hi. I hope you all can help me. My husband has been terminated without cause from work (a budget cutting thing) and we are without medical insurance. We have a variety of maladies going on here, which I will list below. Basically, I need help with treating these things without meds, and without spending a great deal of money, which we do NOT have right now. My oldest dd suffers terribly from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder with scrupulosity and religiousity. The ONLY thing that has helped and enabled her to function is 125 mg of zoloft daily. Without it she is a mess. She is also terribly insomniac, and we have tried EVERYTHING...from chamomile, to valerian, to melatonin, warm milk, etc, to no avail. We have also cut white flour, white sugar, preservatives, artificial colors, flavors, etc to the best of my ability. My youngest dd also has Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, but hers manifests itself as fear of everything. It paralyzes her. She is on 75 mg of zoloft, and with it functions quite well. She also has attention deficit disorder, and it has effected her schooling. She is homeschooled, so I worked for quite some time with her one on one before "giving in" to this diagnosis. She is on concerta, but I would like for her NOT to be. Again, we have made the above dietary changes. Both of my children have STRONG gag reflexes and will NOT take any supplements, etc. that taste "nasty". I have tried to have my younger dgt take a supplement called Attentive Child, which I tasted, (and it tastes quite good in my opinion!) but she cannot stomach it. What can I do? Also, in my books that I have, it recommends quite a few supplements for each condition. I do NOT have the money for this at this time. My husband also has attention deficit, adult onset diabetes, and high cholesterol. I have high blood pressure, adult onset diabetes, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder/Generalized anxiety disorder, and high cholesterol. I am also about 80 pounds overweight, but I have damage to my knees and elbows/wrists from bone chips (repetitive movement injuries from cleaning houses) and chemically induced asthma from cleaning houses for several years. (Gosh, we sound like such a mess! We are much healthier than we sound, I think! OY!) I don't want to be on a ton of medications, but the problems that we deal with are pretty severe and are things I am loathe to let "slide". Any advice that won't cost us a whole lot of money? Unemployment pays enough for us to make our housepayment, so we are severely cash strapped at the moment.
Guest guest
I've been researching diabetes lately as I have a friend with it. For the diabetes try Aloe Vera Juice, garlic and Gymnema Sylvestre (an Indian herb that helps repair the beta cells in the pancreas), cinnamon and bitter melon. You do not have to use all of these and from what I have researched I would say the most important would be the Aloe Vera Juice and the Gymnema Sylvestre. Hugs, Laurajoe cline <susabean wrote: Hi. Guest guest
I am no expert of OCD, but i know that fears can be addressed with bach flower remedies. you can put a few drops in water so it is not an issue with nasty tastes. in fact if they don't know it is there, they will never notice. bach flower remedies help the brain cope with negative states of mind, all kinds not just fears. we use them for everything from bumped heads to childbirth. ramona > My youngest dd also has Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, but hers manifests > itself as fear of everything. Guest guest
HI. There is one homeopathic remedy for such problems. it is Nux Vomica 200. take 5 globulets each, once on waking up, then at the time of sunset, once just two hours before sunset and once at 9.30 pm. Continue for 7 days and if it suits you, continue for another 7 days.ramona wrote: I am no expert of OCD, but i know that fears can be addressed with bach flowerremedies. you can put a few drops in water so it is not an issue with nastytastes. in fact if they don't know it is there, they will never notice. bachflower remedies help the brain cope with negative states of mind, all kinds notjust fears. we use them for everything from bumped heads to childbirth.ramona> My youngest dd also has Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, but hers manifests> itself as fear of everything. Guest guest
I have just joined this site. I am looking for help with my stop smokeing I am trying to do. I went for a check-up with my Dr. ( after not haveing one for 8 years) I really don't care for medical Drs. and all their expensive drugs they push on a person. Most of the drugs are " new " so the co-pay is out of site. In the last 3 months I have spent $650.00 dollars just on co-pay for drugs for Ulcerated Colitis, asma, ostioporisis, ( iknow my spelling is way off,) Anyway I am very upset with all the new meds. the Dr. has said I need to take or die. I need to stop smokeing and her gace me a script for meds. that cost $45.00 co-pay. I didnot get it filled yet. i am asking if anyone has any herbal remadies of something that is not going to cost an arm and leg??? I am sorry I have gone on-and-on here but I am very upset over all this high cost in meds. Thank for your ear to my ranting>
Guest guest
Hi I gave up smoking after 30 years. It has been 6 months now since i had a cigarette. I did it with nicotine replacement gum, which I still keep with me " just in case " . I told myself over and over that " I am free of cigarette addiction " and i started to enjoy the fresh air i was breathing. i noticed the smell of the soap powder on my clothes, and my hair didnt smell of smoke, and my breath was better etc. Also, as a non smoker, I can detect a smoker just by standing near them. the smell of stale ciggies is not a pleasant one. I enjoy the fresh smells around me. I am not causing my kids to cough and I am nicer to be standing next to now. For me it was convincing myself how lovely it was to be free and concentrating on all the benefits of being a non smoker. Never feel sorry for yourself because you are depriving yourself of a ciggie. Why would you give your power away to a chemical. Like all changes that we make, it will take time, be kind and loving to yourself and reward yourself. I talked to myself like i was praising a little child sometimes, just for a bit of self encouragement when the going got tough. Good luck. Be positive.
