Dr. Tracy atracyphd2 at aol.com ________________________________ Several national and international groups are joining together to: FIGHT FOR KIDS In the past year, there have been more than a dozen international drug regulatory agency warnings issued about the potential for psychiatric drugs to cause hallucinations, violence, mania, heart attacks, sudden death and suicide among our youth. Only by enlightening parents on risks of these drugs, and informing them of alternative treatments will they be able to make an educated choice for the well-being of their children. We invite you to join us for an evening of learning more about this important issue and how you can get involved in helping to support a parent’s right to choose. This cause is one that transcends all political, social, economic and religious backgrounds. Special guest speakers include: Kelly Preston Arianna Huffington Mrs. Vicky Dunkle, Vice President of Parents for a Label and Drug Free Education Mrs. Lisa Van Syckle, Regional Director, International Coalition for Drug Awareness, New Jersey Chapter Robert Manciero, Full Vision Productions, " Prescription Suicide " Reception: March 31st 2006 6:00- 8:00 The Starrett-Lehigh Center 601 West 26th Street Suite 875, Ports 1961 showroom New York, New York 10001 RSVP: 212-414-1050 Important Facts: Today, children 5 years old and younger are the fastest-growing segment of the non-adult population prescribed antidepressants in the U.S. Children as young as 4 have attempted suicide while influenced by such drugs and 5 year olds have committed suicide. Between 1995 and 1999, antidepressant use increased 580% in the under 6 population and 151% in the 7-12 age group. Eight out of 13 school shooters were taking antidepressants or stimulants at the time of the crime. At the current rates of increase in the child drugging market, 80% of the nation’s youth will be taking psychiatric drugs in the year 2015 Organizations raising awareness on this issue: Fightforkids.org A parents information website created by the Citizens Commission on Human Rights (CCHR), a world-wide non-profit organization co-founded by the Church of Scientology and Professor of Psychiatry Dr. Thomas Szasz as a mental health watchdog organization. CCHR has helped enact dozens of legislative reforms that protect parents from being mislead, coerced or pressured to give their children psychiatric drugs without being warned of the risks. CCHR has been recognized as the leading advocacy organization that helped garner support for a federal bill that now protects parents from being required to drug their children as a condition of attending school. Its board of advisors includes medical doctors, legislators, psychologists, and celebrities who believe children have the right to grow up drug free. DrugAwareness.org The International Coalition for Drug Awareness is a private non-profit organization founded by Dr. Ann Blake Tracy, Ph.D. in Health Sciences with the emphasis on Psychology. Its board members comprise physicians, researchers, journalists, parents and concerned citizens whose primary focus is to address the worlds most pervasive and subtle drug problem, prescription drugs. Dedicated to the educating of people of the world regarding the potentially harmful and life threatening effects of these drugs. AbleChild.org Parents for a Label and Drug Free education are a nationally recognized non-profit organization founded by New York mother Patricia Weathers, after her son was targeted for psychiatric drug treatment in school. Today the organization comprises thousands of parents from across the nation who have been pressured, coerced or forced to administer psychiatric drugs to their children. This organization fights for a parents right to say no, and to be given all the information necessary to make an informed choice, not just the information coming from an industry that benefits from child drugging.
