Guest guest
Fri, 24 Mar 2006 12:35:00 -0500 (EST) " Audrey Hill, Food & Water Watch " <fwwatch Prevent the poultry industry's toxic secrecy The poultry industry wants you in the dark about the toxic air emissions their facilities release. Specifically, they don't want to report how much ammonia they emit into the air, as normally required under Superfund and the Emergency Planning & Community Right to Know Act (EPCRA). " Knowledge is power " and the last thing that these giant poultry and egg operations want is for communities to be empowered to protect themselves. Ammonia gas not only emits a strong stench, but is also considered an " Extremely Hazardous " substance under Superfund law. Ammonia from factory farms is associated with respiratory diseases, like asthma, and neurological disorders. Stop the poultry and egg industries from being able to hide communities' exposure to toxic chemicals! Take Action here! Thank you, Audrey Hill food
