Guest guest
Dear Group, Our policy about religion goes something like this..... You respect my superstitions and I will respect your superstitions. We didn't want to allow religious disscussion in the group because most people, being the idiots that they are, use religion for all of the wrong purposes. Instead of an inner directed source of a moral compass, understanding and growth, it becomes outwardly directed to control others. When religion equates to power and money it affects all within that society. In the history of religion it has not usually been used to liberate people but has been co-opted to limit and control / enslave them to benefit others designs. Religion in our time is now being used to justify almost any evil that one can think of. It can be used to support dictators, fascism, the killing of one's financial/ political enemies, etc. The big con job of send me your money, votes, etc. Promoting liars, thieves and crooks to public office. The wholesale slaughter of people, etc. Left unchecked, it eventually will effect most areas of our lives, not just our political and life / health issues. When it does impact us, it is mentioned in our group in usually a sociological or political way / nature, not as a way to promote one brand over another. But people, being what they are, let a little bit of their personal brand of religion sneek into their posts. Then, rightly so, we get the response of the opposing sides beliefs. If allowed, it would escalate into your typical situation of " my superstition can beat up your superstition " . I will not allow this group to sink into this kind of stupidy and shallowness. Now you know why we do not allow religious discussion here. For further study may I suggest that you look up and listen to an old american folk song many years ago titled " You'll get pie in the sky when you die " .
