Where is my mail?? MailWasher

I insisted my provider get me off any filtering and got myself MailWasher

that prescreens the mail. Tells me if it has an attachment or not, can

select friends and I can set the filters to the level I want or not.

I can blacklist any email if I want and can even bounce mail (I do not do

that one on commercial crap, but fun when people try to send " snowballs " as

I can see what email it is and bounce that back ))))

 

IF the files are very large from " friends that send huge files of video

clips " I have dial up and if I am in a hurry I delete these emails so I do

not have to download them at all as the preview of the mail does not down

load any html or attachments and can preview though the first either 20

lines or 200 lines of the email to see if it is junk or not.

 

I also to a service where I can report spam (makes one feel good

to be able to do so)

 

If enough people report them they get classes as known spammers and show up

that way in my MailWasher and I can deleted on my mail server without having

to download this stuff.

 

It makes getting mail MUCH quicker than before. It will sometimes even spot

viruses, tough I tend NOT to download mail with attachments from people I do

not know or has some suspicious headers (one can see the actual headers to

see if it actually comes from who it says it is from) I can do a quick reply

with out actually downloading the mail at all actually but only do this if

the message is urgent and I do not want to wait till all the rest of the

mail is downloaded.

 

Before I got MailWasher it used to take me a long time to download the mail.

IT is Much faster now.

 

NO I do not work for MailWasher, besides there are similar other programs

(tried a couple of others and settled on this one filling my needs)

 

So no more bounce mail (I am on dog lists and when the words bitch and stud

came up my mail would bounce before I insisted on my server NO filtering my

mail)
