NO! all they are doing is make a tiny little disclosure on the drug insert for labeleing. Labels for Eczema Drugs Elidel, Protopic to Warn of Cancer Risk FDA has approved labeling changes for two topical eczema drugs, Elidel cream and Protopic ointment, to indicate a possible risk of cancer. The agency has received rare reports of skin cancer and lymphoma in patients using the products, though no definitive link has been established. The revised labeling also will indicate that the drugs are recommended as " second-line treatments, " that is, other prescription eczema treatments should be triedfirst. < http://www.fda.gov/bbs/topics/news/2006/NEW01299.html> http://www.fda.gov/bbs/topics/news/2006/NEW01299.html
Guest guest
, " califpacific " Hi, I just read an article about this that said some Dr's (probably the ones that are getting kick backs from the drug companies) are saying that the labels are not needed! I'll try and find the article, if I can, I'll post it here. I read about the cancer issue probably 1 1/2 ago cause my youngest has eczema and the cancer issue was a concern back then. What gets me is that they know that this can possibly cause cancer and they let it stay. If it does cause cancer it's really a concern with children because they are like 5 times more likely to get cancer from something because of thier growth rates. I don't use anything but Shea Butter on my son's eczema and it clears it right up in a few days and he can have pretty rough flare ups in certain spots. They should take it off the market till it's been proven safe. Just one more product that is tossed in the " do not use " pile. <califpacific@g...> wrote: > > A > Sat, 28 Jan 2006 19:33:44 -0800 > Eczema Drugs Elidel, Protopic cause > cancer By FDA > > > > Do you think the fda is going to take it off the market?
