Guest guest
My husband suffered a severe back injury a couple of years ago and has a titanium " cage " around two of his vertebrae. He does very well and seldom has any really debilitating pain with it or anything, but once in awhile he gets what he describes as very sharp, kind of arthritic pain, it's kind of a " grinding " pain that passes after several hours but is just difficult to deal with. His surgeon had given him a supply of Vicodin, but we don't like that idea at all. He doesn't like to take it because he says it makes him foggy and gives him headaches, plus he just feels it's more of a risk than it's worth. Unfortunately though, over the counter like advil/tylenol doesn't touch this kind of pain when he does get it. He works out regularly to build core strength and he has been absolutely amazing and recovered far beyond what the doctors even thought he could. We are just looking for alternative methods of getting through the occassional bouts of bad pain he gets. They are few and far between - we're talking maybe once every couple of months. Any ideas what might help with this? Your help would be greatly appreciated. thanks! Christin _ Try the New Netscape Mail Today!
