Hello, I am new to the group and thought I would tell you about

myself before I started asking tons of questions.

My name is Amanda live in a small town just north of Columbus Ohio.

I have a farm in which we raise.. 2 kids 17 and 8 yrs old, 1 steer,

13 meat goats, freezer pigs, 3 cats, 3 dogs and 5 chickens. We also

raise a large garden from which we can or freeze most of our

produce for the year. We also run a u-pick sweet corn, and pumpkin

patch. I take out extra veggies to the farm market and distribute

there. Our farm specializes in chemical free meat and veggies. This

has been a real good market for us with our meat.

I would like to learn more about holistic medicine in order to treat

my children and my animals. I would like to learn to make tinctures,

salves, teas, and such for this upcoming summer. I hopefully will

be growing the herbs in which these products will be made. I believe

that home prepardness comes in many ways not only on food

preservation, but healthy wise also. My mom just returned from

Thialand where oriental medicine is practiced by medical doctors. I

was totally impressed with some of the things she has spoken about

and I would like to bring that to my family.

Just a few questions right now.

1. Are tinctures regulated by the Department of Agriculture?

Can I sell them legally from my farm?

2. Are there any special recipes that are your favorites, I

suffer from migranes, I would like a good one for those.

3. A good common help for the cold and flu season.

I will have fun looking thru the archives in this group, and hope I

don't become a pest with my questions.
