James Moore ( " Bush's Brain " Author) on " No Watch Fly List "

for past year: please distribute

Folks, this goes beyond outrageous, even by the Bushiest standards:

James Moore on the the No Fly Watch List ~ ?? ( well, it's more than a

watch, more like an invisible ankle bracelet that keeps time:

indefinitely ). Many of us may recall Senator Kennedy being briefly

on that list, but Moore is flying ~or rather not flying~ a little

below the radar of such high celebrity, and has become, for us ~ like

Cindy Sheehan for her (our) cause ~ a walking sign and symbol of what

Bush can do. Please distribute this predicament of his, ours,

widely: publicity is our best defense, to warn Americans of the

growing power of TSA to ground decent Americans for ~ no reason at all

~ besides an opposition to the Reich.

From MY Diary: I was recently en route to an urgent dental appointment

in Mexico, via Amtrak from south of LA, and was put off the train (

first time ever anything like that had happened to me ) and told to

catch the next one, because I was ( mildly ) assaulted by a passenger

and I challenged it to the passenger, though not the conductor. The

conductor arrived, well after the incident had resolved, and, instead

of spending even a moment's time assessing the facts, told me, " I bet

you get in these kinds of situations all the time. " Some other very

short-haired passengers came to complain about me, and at some point I

replied, " So, this is the New America, huh, trial by mob: the facts or

politics wouldn't have anything to do with this, would they? "

She ( E. Schlotfeldt ) replied, " I've already made my decision, you

need to get off the train, the next one will be by soon. " I

disembarked, waited an hour, and ( as I had told her ) was late for my

dental appointment, which included a biopsy. Gandhi was surely

smiling down. Turns out she let me off ~as unaware as ever~ at my

favorite spot in the state of California, Mission San Juan Capistrano,

just a stone's throw from the Depot: I paid the gardens an hour's

visit, returned to the tracks: the small restaurant across the rails

was just opening even as the dense clouds began to part, and the

music from their speakers played the whimsical strains of " Blue

Skies....Nothing but Blue Skies, from now on.... " My train pulled in

on the third verse, and I skipped aboard.

But I suspect my Amtrak-edited itinerary was not an aberration, as you

can gather from the " diary " below. ( At Wikipedia I found that the

former head of Amtrak departed a couple months ago, and the new one is

a Bush appointee, making that a " quorum " : four of his, out of seven on

their board. I also discovered that, while nominally a for-profit

company, Amtrak really belongs to the federal government. )

Put " HIM " off our train. Anywhere, will do just fine. And let's all

make him catch the next one: a bullet train to his appointment with

Impeachment proceedings. Don't be late !! ~JE

from Tracy--I thought this was good--and scary, and will definitely

feed your paranoia.

From his bio at Huffington Post.

James Moore is an Emmy-winning former television news correspondent

and the co-author of the bestselling, Bush's Brain: How Karl Rove Made

George W. Bush Presidential. He has been writing and reporting from

Texas for the past 25 years on the rise of Rove and Bush and has

traveled extensively on every presidential campaign since 1976.

This author was placed on the no fly list. Two points: there's nothing

you or I can do to help him but make this public, and two- we are all

targets here. Excerpt, Link and horror story on the flip.

I made it a point to arrive very early at the airport. My reservation

was confirmed before I left home. I went to the electronic kiosk and

punched in my confirmation number to print out my boarding pass and

luggage tags. Another error message appeared, " Please see agent. "

I did. She took my Texas driver's license and punched in the relevant

information to her computer system.

" I'm sorry, sir, " she said. " There seems to be a problem. You've been

placed on the No Fly Watch List. "

" Excuse me? "

" I'm afraid there isn't much more that I can tell you, " she explained.

" It's just the list that's maintained by TSA to check for people who

might have terrorist connections. "

" You're serious? "

" I'm afraid so, sir. Here's an 800 number in Washington. You need to

call them before I can clear you for the flight. "

Exasperated, I dialed the number from my cell, determined to clear up

what I was sure was a clerical error. The woman who answered offered

me no more information than the ticket agent.

" Mam, I'd like to know how I got on the No Fly Watch List. "

" I'm not really authorized to tell you that, sir, " she explained after

taking down my social security and Texas driver's license numbers.

" What can you tell me? "

" All I can tell you is that there is something in your background that

in some way is similar to someone they are looking for. "

" Well, let me get this straight then, " I said. " Our government is

looking for a guy who may have a mundane Anglo name, who pays tens of

thousands of dollars every year in taxes, has never been arrested or

even late on a credit card payment, is more uninteresting than a

Tupperware party, and cries after the first two notes of the national

anthem? We need to find this guy. He sounds dangerous to me. "

" I'm sorry, sir, I've already told you everything I can. "

" Oh, wait, " I said. " One last thing: this guy they are looking for?

Did he write books critical of the Bush administration, too? "

I have been on the No Fly Watch List for a year. I will never be told

the official reason. No one ever is. You cannot sue to get the

information. Nothing I have done has moved me any closer to getting

off the list. There were 35,000 Americans in that database last year.

According to a European government that screens hundreds of thousands

of American travelers every year, the list they have been given to

work from has since grown to 80,000.

This man's life is -forever?- changed, and his ability to do his job,

see his family, take a vacation, etc. has been compromised by the Bush

administration...and they don't have to tell him why.

Government secrecy and illegal activities aren't restricted to people

with funny names and swarthy skin, folks. Yeah, they need to go after

the bad people. Trouble is, we're not allowed to know what the

definition of " bad " is. Neither is congress, or the judiciary...it

seems to be a secret between Bush and God.

NOTE: Rense.com reported on the implicit terrorism being waged

against us, by our government, in terms even more chilling than this,

at the archives about a year ago. Rense confirms what Moore has

stated, from his own painful experience, that you can't sue or

petition to get off the list ( once again, " Nixonian " reasons of

National Security are the one-size-fits-all answer to any complaint or

query ) and that once they flag you at a certain level, you can find

it difficult to travel anywhere, any way, but by car or two wheeler. ~JE
