Guest guest
Dear Ramakrishna ji, The solution to the current medical scenario is not easy. I have been studying and interacting with people on this issue for a long time. Right from the beginning I have been ignored, cold shouldered and was also subjected to intense hatred. It did not take me long to find out why. The medical industry employs a huge number of people. Almost everyone has somebody working in it as either a doctor, para medical staff, technician, medical representative, scientist, chemist, teacher, student, or associated as businessman or shareholder. That is if they are not involved in it themselves. Most of these people have entered this industry after incurring a huge initial expenditure. Parents have toiled day and night to raise their children to be doctors. The students themselves have sacrificed a lot. It is not that all doctors are corrupt. A majority amongst them try their best to serve. Therefore if one questions the justification of having this system vis a vis other alternatives, then the reaction is bound to be violent. I realise this and therefore I do not mind the brickbats. I speak on behalf of the patients. I speak for alternatives and the need to have them. Every other sector has competition but this sector has a bully having a monopoly that does not want other views to survive. If you study the history of medicine in detail and the comments and opinions thereon you cannot but notice that dissenting voices have been silenced and their work purged. As a result the patients suffer. Not only the patients but the entire population suffers as all the traditional wisdom on health that mankind has accumulated over centuries have been ignored and bludgeoned so that the bully survives and prospers. What is the most striking is that common sense ideas of health have been thrown to the winds. A very good example has been given by Rajendra ji when he talks about the acidity and the alkalinity of the body and the resultant build up of carbon dioxide at the expense of oxygen. This is a fundamental concept that all other systems other than the prevalent have as their core. Acidity is increased not only by food but also by our actions as well as thinking patterns. One feels weakness after anger and strength after a good thought or deed. This is because of the intricate relationship between the body and the mind. Does not stress lead to acidity and destroy the equilibrium of the body? The influence and thoughts of the modern system has eaten into our social fabric. By concentrating on viruses and pathogens the attention from the rules of living has shifted to mere physical hygiene. Even that is not possible today as the mind no longer allows us to preserve our bodily purity. As a result we suffer from build up of toxins. These toxins are pushed back into our body instead of being eliminated. On top of this outside toxins are either injected or fed as medicines. This continues until the organs give up under pressure and at last the unfortunate patient has only pain and intense suffering as companions. Ayurveda clearly states that it is " ama " (toxins), their creation and faulty elimination that causes disease. This " ama " may be a result of food, unhealthy living, unhealthy thought process, unhealthy emotions, unhealthy atmosphere, environment or unhealthy relationship with nature. This is the sumnum bonus of health and disease certified not only by our ancestors but also by the likes of Hahneman, Mikao Usui to Plato and Hippocrates. Mens sana in corporo sano, a healthy mind in a healthy body. The truth, plain and simple. Man is a complex creature as it is. By subjecting him to a " system of medicine " that only concentrates on the destruction of symptoms rather than addressing the dis-ease we have exponentially increased his complex nature apart from increasing the complex nature of disease. Add to it vaccinations that eat into his soul and one shudders to think of what one gets. As pointed out by Hahnemann vaccinations lead to a state of the body he terms " vacciniosis " . Caused both by vaccine ingredients as well as by animal serum the end result is very similar to the state of the body called " sycosis " by homeopathy. Ordinarily one acquires this state of the body only after the supression of veneral diseases. It is sycosis that causes the internal organs to be affected by disease. We have no one to blame really. We PAY people to do this to us. But this simplicity does not beget huge returns. You can bring up an empire of love based on these tenets but not a corporate culture that is by modest estimates pegged at 2,00,000 crores annually. This is the business of peddling death. What more can I say? The mails that regularly land in my mailbox are no longer hidden threats and are becoming more and more ferocious everyday. But I don't really bother. Modern medicine has nearly finished me. If it's perpretators take what is left I will be relieved of a lot of pain. I am a very small fry. Our Health Ministry too is ineffective against this powerful monster. I know what choice epithets have been directed against our Health Minister for daring to suggest that the modern doctors could learn from the alternate systems. Today we can speak against God, we can speak against George Bush, we can speak against Saddam Hussain or Osama Bin Laden and yet survive. But this Frankensteinian monster called " modern medicine " is no joke. It will rest only after all life is obliterated from this planet. Man is not a machine as the " medical system " suggests. Even going by that precept I can give you an example. A very intricate piece of machinery is devised. To save it from damage certain in built damage control systems are built into it. A siren that wails, a red light that comes on, a needle pointer that points etc. This machine falls into the hands of the wrong mechanic. When the siren wails, he smashes the speaker. When the red light comes on he smashes the bulb. When the panel needle points he destroys the instrument panels. Now he is satisfied that the machine is perfectly alright because there is no siren, no light, no active needle that points out the danger within. However the machine, unable to express itself, very soon starts shuddering sending the mechanic into a tizzy wondering what went wrong, and then stops altogether. The mechanic is aghast and says, " I tried my best but could not save the machine " . The practitioners of alternative systems are not very eager to come to the fore and take the responsibility into their hands. This is because they, by noticing the current disease symptoms, are aware that mass deaths are just around the corner. By hogging the limelight at this stage they don't want the massacre to be blamed on them. They would rather wait for the consequences to surface fully and the responsibility fixed before charting their plan of action. Can we blame them? Regards, Jagannath. " I cherish my right to believe as I wish, and I will defend the right of others to believe differently. We need to learn to live together in peace by focusing on our similarities, not our differences. I'll go to my Church and you go to yours but let's walk along together. " - David M. Breshnahan.
