Tricky George is Spying on Americans

After 9/11, George Bush ordered the National Security Agency to spy on

Americans in the United States. How could this possibly be big news to

anyone familiar with the agenda of this administration?

 

Supposedly, people under scrutiny possibly may have links to

terrorists, but I think that anybody who's donated to an antiwar,

anti-Bush organization or has signed an impeach Bush petition or

gathered for a peace rally may be on the list.

 

That Bush would violate our constitutional rights is pretty ho hum

stuff to me. And for anyone who hasn't lived beneath the earth's

surface for the last five years. In fact, just days ago, a couple of

the president's staffers told that Bush had called the Constitution

" just a goddamned piece of paper. "

 

I'm wondering if all those mainstream news outlets that didn't print

the spy story when they learned about it over a year ago had the same

reaction I did--what's the big deal? The supposedly liberal New York

Times didn't publish the " news " (they say) because the White House

insisted this could jeopardize investigations. I think they found it

as news unworthy as I do. We all know the reputation of Bush Inc. and

the assaults have become so predictable.

 

This administration has used our Constitution as toilet paper. If the

White House had an outhouse, the Constitution would function like the

Sears Roebuck Catalog did back in my father's youth. It would've been

within easy reach of those three holes in that little outbuilding on

the family farm.

 

Remember, the war in Iraq is unconstitutional. That's one of the Bush

Administration's biggest abuses of power today--the one responsible

for more than 2,150 dead American troops and an estimated 100,000

Iraqi deaths. Yeah, yeah, I know Bush said " 30,000 more or less "

Iraqis, but even those who still support him would have to admit that

this is inaccurate.

 

Don't forget the abuse of detainees, indefinite detentions without due

process, and Abu Ghraib. Everything George Bush does shows his

disregard for our principles and that paper held so dear for more than

200 years.

 

No, I don't have ties to terrorists but I sure am vocal about the lies

of George Bush and I'd love to get my hands on the file of those

Americans under surveillance. If my name isn't on it, I'll be truly

humiliated.
