Global meet on Ayurveda

Staff Reporter THRISSUR: A three-day global Ayurveda summit organised

by the Vaidyaratnam here will commence on Friday. The summit has three sessions

that focus on diseases caused by lifestyle, applications of biotechnology in

Ayurveda and Rasayana therapy. The summit aims to develop an inter-disciplinary

approach by featuring presentations from leading doctors from non-Ayurvedic

system of medicines. As many as 1,000 experts, including 100 from abroad, have

registered for the summit. The organisers said in release here on Tuesday that

the countries to be represented at the summit include Britain, Russia, South

Korea, Italy, Brazil and Sri Lanka. " We have already received confirmation

from 30 Ayurveda colleges in the country, " they said. Governor R.L. Bhatia will

inaugurate the summit on Friday evening.
