Sept. 29, 2005: from the New England Journal of Medicine:

 

" The relatively low frequencies of influenza A (H5N1) illness in

humans despite widespread exposure to infected poultry indicate that

the species barrier to acquisition of this avian virus is substantial. "

(meaning that human resistance to the virus is very high!--ST)
