Carthage is a small very progressive community located about two and a half hours from two major airports: St Louis and Chicago. The Quad Cities consists of Rock Island and Moline, IL and Davenport and Bettendorf, IA. Their airport is only one and a half hours away from Carthage. The community of Carthage has been very excited about having us come. They are rolling out the red carpet for our center and offering every type of help available to us. They have monitored the progress we have made as a group over the past several years and very much like what they see. I am overjoyed by their response and it warms my heart to see the type of enthusiastic welcome we have received from them! Not only will our center be a withdrawal center to provide safe guidance off these deadly drugs, but I also envision it as a gathering place for all who have been adversely affected by these drugs whether they were the ones who took them or those who associated with those who took them. Then each week we hope to focus on a different reaction to these meds and have those who are most interested in those reactions come to the center, for example: suicide, murder/suicide, child suicide, divorce, diabetes, false accusations of abuse, sexual abuse, alcoholism, fibromyalgia, cancer, violent acts, etc., etc., etc. For years so many have begged and pleaded for a place to go to meet with others who have basically " walked in their shoes " when it comes to the nightmare these drugs can cause in one's life. There will be opportunity to meet with others who have had to struggle through similar issues due to these drugs. Educational seminars will be offered to any who want to gather and share with others in a healing situation. I envision many of the great teachers and healers of our time coming to share knowledge with us in the 600 - 700 seat auditorium at the center. Bringing families together to share their experience has been one of the most healing elements we have found through these horrific antidepressant-induced nightmares. With every family in this country having been adversely affected in some way by these drugs, I want this center in Carthage, near the center of America, to be the place for the healing to take place. Individual practitioners of all types will have private offices on the campus to make all of the healing modalities available that we have found helpful in antidepressant withdrawal - acupunturists, chiropractors, hyperbaric oxygen treatment, nutritionists, herbologists, aroma therapists, etc. In this way patients will have access to these practitioners in one local area along with access to other patients going through similar things and the guidance of those who have made it through coupled with educational helps. (If you are an practioner who is interested in having an office at the center please contact us. There will be huge price breaks on rent for practioners.) Besides a very large auditorium for educational seminars, we hope to soon have facilities for television and radio broadcasts as well. Room and board will be available on campus. All natural meals to help in the recovery from the effects of the drugs will be served on campus. Room and board for one room for one person will run from $85 per night to $500.00 per week. As more rooms are remodeled and become available the cost may decrease. We need to hear back from as many of you who are interested in staying at the center for any length of time and for any reason. In order to show that this is a viable project, our investors need to know how many people are interested in coming. Please let us know ASAP if you think you might want to come EVER to the center or know anyone else who might so that they can see the interest that exists in having such a center. The withdrawal center in Carthage is also associated with a non-profit foundation which will assist in funding both the center and the International Coalition for Drug Awareness. So for those of you who would like to help us with this project and would like a tax write off for a charitable donation it can be taken care of in this way.
