Guest guest
I'm 51, 5'11 " weigh 170lbs. and was just diagnosed with Type II diabetes. I'm still in shock I think. I run two miles each day, don't eat junk foods, am pretty fit and otherwise in pretty good health. I don't want to go on medications for life if I don't have to. I'm really looking for alternative options. Any suggestions? Thanks

My father is Type II as well and I've been taking care of him for about 1 year now through a remedy I put together for his diabetes. I will first talk about his condition, because size does matter. He is 5'8'' weighs about 230, (beer belly) though not a heavy set, he has a massive bear belly, mostly because he drinks his daily beer, insulin isn't regulated properly in his system. The remedy basically is consisted of the following. In a 1 quart glass jar add the following over night (8hrs or more) 2/3 tble spoon of Fenugreek seeds 3'' cinnamon stick broken down and let soak over night with clean purified water. The following morning it should look slight brownish, yellowish, bring to boil while adding the following herbs. 1 tble spoon of Gymnema Sylvestre (organic) 1/2 tble spoon of bilberry leaves 1 tble spoon of Ginkgo Biloba-herb form (organic) 1/4 tble spoon of Pau D Arco (organic) Take this tablet once a day, 1 hr before meals 500mg of Chromium Drink this substance throughout the day, before and after meals. Let boil for 10 min, low flame. I dont know exactly how it works but my father was on 3 different medications; one of which he believes caused him severe ulcer's, allowed my father to stop taking all three of them. He simply relies on this tea I make for him ever morning. I had his blood tested 2 months ago and for the first time ever his blood was at the best its ever been. That blood test was going to determine if he was going to have to get put on insulin or not, when results came back, Doc said he's not. Doctor smiled at my father and told him to keep doing what he's doing and keep taking the medicine as perscribed because the blood test results were so astonishing. What ever it does it really helped for my dad, so I dont see why this can't help out any other diabetic out there. The total cost should NOT be more than $25. if bought individualy, which I recomend. Guest guest
Enzymatic Therapy puts out a glucose control supplement. Also, apple cider vinegar is said to help stabilize blood sugar levels. <painfull_institution wrote: --- In , " cpbrick1 " <cpbrick1@h...> wrote: >
Guest guest
Hi, I was diagnosed with diabetes just over one month ago. I don't fit the lifestyle or lab profile for either type 1, type 2 or type 1.5. But i do have high sugar readings. Like you, I am relatively healthy, eat well except under stress, supplement, cleanse and all that, so was in as much shock as you probably are. The dr doesn't even know what to make of me. lol Once you start getting out of the mainstream framework for diabetes, you will find there are so many ways to approach and treat this. You can take alternative supplements instead of meds to reduce your sugar levels, work on your diet, or you can look for what is behind it and how to make yourself more healthy as a whole. I can give you some ideas, but I suggest really researching and following every lead you can. Go to your local bookstore and sit for the day and read. Then go on the internet and research further following every link or idea no matter how strange it seems. You know yourself, so see what fits for your situation and how you want to deal with this. There are several alternative diabetes groups as well. For me, I know I have had unusual food reactions for years, that I have not been able to sort out. Finally now, I am finding answers. " Reversing Diabetes " by Julian Whitaker, MD. He provides many alternative treatments, including many of the herbs that were mentioned in previous responses. A book/website by Richard K. Bernstein called Dr. Bernstein's Diabetes Solutions, explains what it is, and provide a diet that maintains low sugar levels and avoids long term complications. Now, what they don't tell you - lol - allergies to foods or chemicals raise sugar levels. Physiological / emotional stress raises sugar. There is some evidence diabetes is a mild form of pellagra or niacine/B12 deficiency. There is also a major link to inflammation throughout the body. Also a major link with candida. Teas such as taheebo or essiac show some success. Organ and body cleanses. Allergy testing (esp. wheat, sugar, dairy, food chemicals). Live cell microscopy. Homeopathy. Energy work. ok, that should give you some ideas and keep you busy for a day or so. good luck. check in and let us know how it goes. rachel cpbrick1 wrote: >I'm 51, 5'11 " weigh 170lbs. and was just diagnosed with Type II >diabetes. Guest guest
rachel, Read Atkins Diet Revolution for a starter. It may help you realise what about your lifestyle got you to where you are. He was often successful in getting people off of insulin medications and sometimes reversing the problems. He also treated with nutrients.
