See: http://www.cumc.columbia.edu/about/defining_the_future Below is the correct citation linking Janssen Pharmaceutical and the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry of Columbia University. This three day colloquium was a collaborative effort by industry- influenced stakeholders in academia and government who have embarked on an aggressive TeenScreen promotional campaign. This pharmaceutical sponsored colloquium had dual goals which a gullible press has failed to discern. The first goal was to promote a myth through selected media-- that large numbers of American children suffer from undetected, mental illness. The second goal was to SELL TeenScreen as a valid suicide detection /prevention tool. Both of these claims are pure myth created inorder to increase the market of drugs that have failed to demonstrate a benefit justifying the risks of harm.
