Guest guest
This has brought up something that I have ben thinking about for some time now. It is that it seems to me that more women " get it " than men. By this I mean that it has been my experience that more women than men are willing to think, evaluate and to try and find out the truth about something. I have seen more women than men who are willing to invest the effort to tackle complicated or deep issues. For that reason, I seem to have had almost as many women as friends as I have had men friends in my life. But historically it was men who were promoted as the deep thinkers (I think that maybe they just had almost all of the opportunity and women had very little) and the little woman didn't need to bother her pretty little head about anything on that level. Look at which sex mainly posts in this group (other than myself) or most groups for that matter. It is usually women. They usually do a better job of communicating the total concept of ideas too. I believe that women have been " propagandized " for most of the time by the " power structure " (who happen to be men) to believe that they should still mainly take on the supporting role to men in modern day society. So the modern women became " liberated " to work outside the home, have a career, and produce income, but she still retained the obligations/priviledge of keeping most of the duties of the traditional housewife too, such as child rearing, cooking, cleaning, shopping, finances, etc. also. What kind of liberation was that? It seems like if the duties of earning the family income are shared then all of the other duties should be shared also. All the while doing most of the domestic duties plus the breadwinner duties in a manner to not offend their mates masculine sensitivities/male ego of being the head/boss of the household. I was hopeful 30 years ago that women were really coming into their own, but little by little I saw our society (USA) turning them back into second class status (along with most other progresses of society). I have known quite a few men who thought of themselves as critically independent thinkers who in reality were not much of a thinker at all, but were being guided and advised by their quiet unassuming wife who let the man think of themselves in that way. my 2 cents, Frank , " mk2967 " <mk2967> wrote: > > Women are still an easy target in this world.
