Neusa,

Learning the names of fruit in english is fine, but not necessary.

Any fruit and vegetable is great as long as it is ORGANIC and

whenever possible raw or minimally cooked.

The brown rice is good too, but you need to " sprout " (Crecer in

spanish) it. You can do this by soaking (poner en remojo) the rice

for 12 hours. After it has been soaked you can prepare it as normal

oryou can place it in a strainer (colador) for 1 to 2 days. You must

rince the rice in the morning and in the evening to make sure it does

not sour. After the second day it will grow a little tail and you

can then eat it raw or steam.

Do you have health food stores in your area? In the US they sell

organic Shoyo this is the only type we will use, but we still use it

sparingly. Anything you can convert to organic or even homegrown is

better than commercial.

We have also cut back on our sushi intake, keeping it to once a

month. The fish and the nori is probably not so bad, but the sushi

rice is. YOu should avoid tofu
