Guest guest
I've noticed that the usual percent alcohol is 50%. Are there times when a smaller percentage is appropriate? Also what about the ratio of herb to solvent? 4:1 is what I've seen for dried herbs. When it comes to fresh it appears to be 1:1. I'm experimenting with a couple of tinctures with a 12 percent alcohol. They're "cooking" now and soon will be done. One is garlic and the other onion. For the "booster" I've used ginger with the onion and harbenero with the garlic. Also I've got dandelion going in a 4:1 ratio with the fresh herb, leaf and root. I started this before I noticed the 1:1 ratio for the fresh herb. I appreciate all comments. Waymon Friends. Fun. Guest guest
I did check the files. There is good info there. I wanted to get some "experienced" info from what other people have found out in their trials. If you can use vinegar to make a tincture I guess a lower percentage alcohol couldn't be too bad. One thing, however, how will I know if the quality is "off" in the stuff I make? Waymon Friends. Fun. Try the all-new Messenger
