Guest guest
I recently experienced an early miscarriage. Some friends are urging me to go in for an exam to be sure there aren't any problems or causes that could be avoided in the future. I don't know enough about this to know if this is necessary or wise, or just setting myself up for problems, or a useless waste of time. Is anyone here familiar with that? I want to know if they would do anything potentially harmful ... or, if I go, if I should be prepared to resist harassment about drugs, vaccines, or anything else objectionable. Visual or manual examination seems non-harmful and acceptable. Any information or experiences would be helpful here! Tyrie
Guest guest
If the bleeding is like a normal period and last as long as or just slightly longer as a period then there is probably no concern for the miscarriage. Unless you have had trouble conceiving and have had multiple miscarriages there is probably nothing a dr can even do. Or will do. If you are still having pregnancy symptoms then yes, they will do several blood test to make sure the HCG levels have or are going down. In the meantime I would take some red raspberry and my vitamins to get back to pre pregnancy state and then start TTC again. Guest guest
Hi Tyrie, If it were me, and I had some doubts or reservations about the miscarriage, I would probably go to my GP to get an examination to determine the cause, just so I would know what it was. Then I'd look to Doc for remedies to handle. But then, I have a great GP who works with me on this, and doesn't mind me coming in for an exam, and not take drugs/medicine. If you're happy that your body is okay, then don't. So I guess just look at how you feel about this, and what your chances are of remaining in control over any exam you do decide to have. love Lisa - Tyrie Woodford herbal remedies Monday, May 24, 2004 3:46 PM Herbal Remedies - Medical exame after early miscarriage? Guest guest
If you are not in pain then there is no reason to go to the MD. As far as I know, if you are an adult they don't harass you about vaccines. They only do that for kids. If you are feeling abnormally weak or tired and notice an excessive amount of bleeding then you should investigate that further, if not you are fine. I personally have had 2 early miscarriages and was fine after both so I wouldn't worry about it.
